Thanks for the tutorial - game works great now. Except for some reasons main character keeps holding his revolver from the very beginning ... and every action cause shooting. Really, really weird... no other games or emulators cause this. I might to try and set up keyboard+mouse controls instead later. I've missed my chance to play RDR when I had my old X360, but was forced to sell it and never returned to playing on consoles. edit - fixed it by picking option to switch LB with LT and vice versa - RB with RT. Now it's time for an adventure I've been waiting for a decade!

yoo i'm probably a little late to this but i've recently set this up and got it running. The game performs great but I'm having issues with lights flickering and I'm not sure what settings i could change to remove the issue or reduce it atleast. Edit: i had to disable the 60 fps option in the patch file. works great now!

@@TonyStaddus Ah cool, that's fairly modest hardware and still running this game great, excellent news :) I have i7 8700 and GTX 1080, so I think fairly similar level and gives me hope I can run this well too! I also only want to tun at 1080p so that is also good to know 👍 I heard Xenia did not have a GUI like most other Emulators and this put me off from trying it in the past, but you made a very good step by step tutorial it seems and I think I will give it a go. I have this on PS3 and would have been willing to paid for a PC port that was decent and fairly priced (same for the GTA trilogy), but that was apparently too much to ask 🤦‍♂ Thanks again, it's really good to see this after the terrible (but typical) news in regards to Red Dead port. I even saw Yuzu is supposed to run this well now too, but it didn't so far for me (but I think it needs precise settings). But anyway I hope that most people will reject latest Rockstar B*ll Sh*t and just emulate it, so those grubs don't succeed in ripping everyone off again! It's people like you that help this so much ✊✌

it doesnt let me open the red dead redemption goty file or all the others and when I try opening it it says how do you want to open this file? Microsoft store and shit idk

I keep getting an "Unhandled Exception In Xenia", I've tried it with and without changing any setting in xenia config or patches. I'm only able to get past the intro but once it says "press start", I'm hit with the error. Any help you could provide on that?

I'm gonna be playing this on my Laptop with 4800h and Rtx 3050-4gb Vrm. You think I can play with stable fps or go with Ryjinx instead?

Read dead Ryjinx resently got better but it Xenia is still the way to go. You can try both but Xenia will give you a more stable 60fps

Can you upload about setting keyboard and mouse for this game??

Can you possibly post the file name of the iso for the goty version so I know exactly what to look for…there’s some repacks and stuff that idk will work. Also which value should be changed to what for 4k rendering? Thanks!

How do i play this with keyboard and mouse controls instead?

Some of the links in the des. box aren't usable. Whey're shortened hence useless. Anyways, good manual.

For some reason it doesn't work for me. I tried both versions of the red dead patches, and both displayed a text saying "Failed to launch title, check xenia.log for technical details". My PC doesn't have problems launching the emulator and shouldn't have. I also noticed that at 6:14 there's two folders called cache and content which weren't there before. I don't know what am i supposed to do.

What about AMD GPUs and CPUs? It says in the system requirements that amd gpus are not recomended due to amd drivers bugs that can casuse crashes. Does someone use AMD hardware and want to share experience? How it works?

wait so do you want vsync on or off ? cause you turned it off in xenia but forced on in Nvidia CP. wouldn't that be counter intuitive?

Not at all, it's recommended to turn it off in Xenia because it causes stutter. But if you turn on V-sync through Nvidia it's much more stable.

@olekweenie449 If you want to change the resolution, scroll 3:04 to the Draw Resolution Scale and change the X and Y value *(2 =1440p 3 = 4K)*

Xbox 360 emulation requires much more powerful hardware than Nintendo Switch emulation. I would, therefore, be more interested to see a Yuzu or Ryujinx guide as that would be able to run using an APU like the 5600g (no GPU basically)

try run 60 fps on yuzu it is not happening brodie, yuzu and ryujinx are both horrible tbh and the emulators for Nintendo switch are poor, xbox emulators are much better

Depends on your hardware really, in my case Xenia was no more demanding to run at 4K than Ryujinx and Yuzu 4K. I'm more worried about games have no music, distorted stuttering audio and frame rate or it simply gives out "Graphics Device lost" error on games that do run well. Right now, it's GTA IV for me that kept giving me that error and it's a shame since the game runs rather smooth at 4K and when I did fixed that error using Vulkan backend the game runs worse like its frames' stutters really badly.

On a very mid-range rig I get 60fps on Xenia, but there are graphical issues. I only get 30fps on Yuzu, but graphical issues are much less. Ryujinx it was a nightmare, unplayable

​​@@iknowmeFYI 30 fps that you got in yuzu is because the fps limitation, you can unlock your fps in yuzu fyi by pressing ctrl+u, so maybe if you dont know yet you could try check it out and compare their actual performance and let me know which do better, cause im still struggling deciding the right emulator to play this game🙃🙃

Be sure when you launch the game it's in a ISO disc image format. If so, could be just a corrupted ROM game file. This does happen and need to find a new one.

Nothing I changed had true impact on the game, it looks that config file is totally ignored.

The Config file for me turns in too a TOML file and i cant open it any fix?

Funny fact, but I had it installed and it was running kinda fine on win10, but at that point I had a shitty controller for like $20 that I couldn't work properly in rdr1. Now I have a.. well, fine conroller, that runs good in any game... And win11. Now rdr1 stutters completely in xenia. Doesn't seem to happen to other users though. :)

Pretty sure they used a USB on the Xbox and got the game out of the folder of Xbox

Turn off V-Sync in the 7:49 emulator, that causes most of the stuttering. Then turn it on using Nvidia control panel 8:28
