    This game has so much potential. Cards up, card down. You could do no deck reset to limiting yourself to x amount of resets, or give yourself a reset if you collect a pair. Maybe you shuffle after a reset, maybe you dont. Was also fooling around with the card placement and you could make it extremely hard with certain patterens, in other words it doesnt even have to be a pyramid. Even how many cards you pull can make it more intresting, especially with non shuffle resets. Was thinking id try this with two decks and use the card placement to make a campagin style approach. I.e making placement slowly get harder with a speedbump here or there. Very intresting game imo

    Best video I've seen. Takes you step by step. So clear and concise. Just confused once you finish the pyramid but have some waste pile left does that matter or have you finished it

    Most people play that it doesn't matter If you have cards left in the pile, but there are varients called all collect or something similar where all cards need to be paired up even your waste pile but that's usually a much harder varient

    The 2014 version of the PC game Hoyle Card Games, which I own, adds an extra row of 7 cards below the bottom row of the pyramid, but it is an independent row not attached to the pyramid. The game gives you the option of either just trying to clear the pyramid, or having to clear the extra row along with it for a harder challenge.

    I play this game a bit differently: 1. I can combine more than two cards if I'd want to, as long as they still add up to 13. 2. I only go through the pile once. This makes it all the more challenging though.

    I think it can be more challenging if the waste pile is only gone through once. Also, would it be different if the sum was 14 instead of 13? That way, you can’t just move the King directly to the discard pile. The 7’s will also have less cards possible to pair with

  • @peternewson2275

    At 2:54 couldn't you remove the last two card because they sum to 13? Or is the game lost as soon as the draw pile is exhausted?

    The only flaw that I can see in the game is when you set up the pyramid you can look at which cards are faced up and know if you can compete the game. For example, if say all #3 cards are faced up, you will not have one in the deck, and if you need the 3 to take out the #10 card you won’t be able to and you know you will lose. You can maybe find ways to free up the 3’s to take out the 10 but if the 3’s are hard to free up then you lose no matter what if you haven’t gone through the deck yet.

  • @reillywalker195

    @reillywalker195

    No. You can only match cards that have their bottom edges fully freed. You'd have to pair the 2 with another jack either exposed in the layout or from the stock or waste.

    No. Most people play that you just have to clear the pyramid. If you want to play a more difficult version, you could also decide that you also have to clear the waste pile, but that is not commonly part of this game.

    That’s not the right way to play. The correct way is to flip the draw pile in 3 cards and playing the top card. After going through the draw pile, you can repeat. Also you can remove a covered card if the card you pick up to uncover the covered card is a match. This way is more difficult.
