Once I complete a suit of cards I turn them over face down to indicate a 4 card completion so it makes it less confusing which are still been played. It's a long game but worth it to pass the time when there's nothing else to do. Thank you for this tutorial. 😉

I saw a really interesting revision to another card game where instead of having a 'shame' pile (the cards you weren't able to play being your negative score) instead, they gave the Aces a special ability that let you reset a stack (not sure what the ability would be for this game since I'm only just seeing it for the first time). This not only makes it so you are always trying to improve your score by not using any of the Aces, but it also removes the problem where you 'lose' the game and your score is negative, as oppose to winning with a positive score that is lower than perfect.

This game looks similar to Virginia Reel, an excellent game of strategy. I'll have to give it a try. Thanks for the video!

Why would this not work with a single deck? Use a 4x3 layout instead of 8x3 layout and a single deck, all other rules apply. Has anyone tried it that way?

Can you only move one card at a time? Like say I place a 2 (and I already have a stack of 5, 8, and J) can I place those three on top of the 2?

If you stack the 10 on the 7 like in your example, do you then move the whole stack to a 4 later?

What happens if I’m at the end of the stock and it’s only 2 left not 3 do I flip the rest of the stock to add?

Can I place an 8/Jack onto a 2 that is in the layout even though there is no 5?

I ended up with zero cards so I definitely did smth wrong 😅 I don’t think I can put any cards below another one right? I can only put cards above others?

QUESTION 🙋🏻‍♀️ You mentioned that you can stack a cards up even if there isn’t the base number (2,3,4). Can I do this even when working through the deck? If I get my three cards out of the deck and can place the top card down onto a card can I? Eg. I have a 7 of diamonds and I have drawn my three cards and the top card is a 10 of diamonds. Can I place the 10 down even though the deck hasn’t started to stack? Or can the cards on do this once they are placed down in the game?

Yes, you can place the 10 of diamonds on the 7 of diamonds without having the 4 of diamonds in the stack yet. When a 4 of diamonds becomes available in the layout, the 7 and 10 stack can be played onto the 4. I hope this helps!

i went through the discard pile once, now do i reshuffle and play again? when is the game over ?

In the case of stacking same suits to free up space like a 7hearts on a 10hearts, can I put a 9diamoms on top of the 7 that is already stacked on the 4 or can you only stack suits 2 cards at a time?

If you still need the info, stacking goes up by 3. 2,5,8J. 3,6,9,Q. 4,7,10,K. You'd have to stack that 9 on a 6 for it to work. Hope this helps.

If a 5 of spades is standing alone (not on a 2 of spades) is it possible to stack an 8 of spades on top of it and create an open space that way? Or does every card stacked need to start with its respective number 2 3 or 4 and up to be a stack?

Yes, you can stack the 8 on the 5 without the 5 being on the 2.

If you have a pile with a 5 and 8 on it and another one in the row with a stand-alone 2, can you move the two into the pile with the 5&8 or is it now ‘locked’ because it’s not a single card pile?

Can I place a card that I drew from the deck that is lower than a number on the table? For example, if I draw a 5, can I place it under an 8 on the table? Or can I only place numbers that are higher?

For the J,Q,K have to go last when all are in order

How many times are you allowed to go through the stock? Like if I go through it once is that it or do you get three turns of the stock?

Going through the stock three times is a good benchmark, but you can do more or less to change the difficulty of the game.

Generally, you don't get any redeals in card games like this one, but you could probably give yourself two redeals (that is, three trips through the deck altogether) and still get a fair challenge.

What happens when I am dealing 3 cards at a time and there is a 2? Can I switch it with another card ?

No, the 2 can only enter the grid if you have an open spot.

Can you put cards under each other because if like in the top row you have 5 8 J, can you put a 2 under or can you move more than 1 card.

You could play this with one deck if you cut the number of piles in each row from eight to four, but you'd have a harder time since each card would only have one other potential match rather than two. To compensate, however, you could let yourself build by colour rather than by suit.

what about when you get a joker? or do we play without them?
