Great video! Thank you for the information. Just a PSA if anyone is having these problems: 1. If the dropdown list in PSX2PSP doesn't work (as in, you can't select anything), try starting the program using classic mode. 2. If PSX2PSP gets stuck at 100% the file may be ready, despite the program not saying "Done" or anything like that.

I am running Windows 11 and the drop down in theme mode didn't work. Switched to classic and had no issue converting a bunch of games. Thanks!

Yep, encountered the same dropdown issue. Another way is you can use your scroll wheel on your mouse and scroll to the desired selection then use the mouse to click on what you want to select. It's a weird one.

@@lokil0k81 Short answer: Probably yes. Long answer: It depends on the used core. It relies on the core which formats he supports. But a core that is available on the Miyoo Mini and supports certain formats there then it's safe to assume that core supports those same formats on any other RetroArch host device (such as a PC or Android phone) if the core is available there as well. And since RetroArch on Android has every core that is available on the Miyoo Mini, you should be fine.

It really, really was. Absolutely criminal that the series never took off. Dart was originally planned as a DLC character for PlayStation All-Stars Battle Rogale too, but even that never happened :(

Great Video - it seems even if the game doesn't have more than 1 disk but has more then 1 BIN file, you still need to select them all w/ the PSXtoPSP tool to export to PBP. My question is what do you do if there is 5+ BIN files? For example MK Trilogy has about 10+ in the zip file, and the PSXtoPSP tool seems to only allow you to select 5 BIN files. I already tried just selecting the 1st BIN file and see what happens (the game launches but crashes almost shortly after as if it's not "complete"). Thanks for any help. I am not using Onion so i skipped to the end as suggested. I have installed many games with your method that have less than 5 BIN files with no problem, I'm just lost on what to do when there is more than 5.

CDmage can convert multiple bins into a single bin for you kzread.info/dash/bejne/lWpnrbaHp72aYag.html Then you can convert the single bin into a pbp

Use the batch mode EXE. Point the Input to the folder containing the game files for the disc. It'll convert all of the files into one PBP. Then you can use the normal mode to combine those PBPs!

Very informative and helpful. I do have an additional question regarding disk changing though. I don't have Onion OS installed. Is it still possible to change between disks on a PS1 game using the default Miyoo Mini OS? I can't seem to figure it out to do it.

Hello! Yes you can. During a PS1 game, press the function button > Native Menu > Extra Stuff then either "Change CD image" to load a whole new file or "Next multidisk CD" for multidisk PBPs.

Is there any way to select the particular ps1 bios you want to use depending on the game?

My Miyoo Mini doesn't run the majority of .EBOOT files I tried running on it. Can't understand why... It just dumps me back on the main screen.

It's usually to do with the compression level. Try lowering the compression.

Hello again! I am trying to learn and convert a file that seems to be a ECM file type (img.ecm). It’s a SLUS file package that contains SUB, ECM, and CCD. I have no idea where to go or how to convert it so that the miyoo mini can recognize this ps1 rom. Any help or direction would be much appreciated.

Another great vid mate! Considering I have extra free space on my SD Card (128gb), is there any problem (besides menu organization files like MGSolid (disc 1); MGSolid (disc 2)) to add two .bin/.chd archives in the PS folder? Is it functional into retroarch to swap between discs when needed in this way? I tried the second part of the tutorial but all multidisc games doesn't open :/ thanks!

Not at all, it'll work just fine between the file formats. If your multi-disk PBPs aren't working, lower the compression level and try them again!

You can still swap disks but the process is a bit different. You need to select "Load new disk" and browse to the disk manually. PBP method is much more convenient!

Older post, but I have a ton of experience with chd, pbp and m3u files etc. I always tell people that it's easier to keep multi disc files as pbp and single disc files as CHD. This also applies for pretty much all other emulation handhelds too. It's SO much easier then fighting odd file formats haha

Great vid, but retroachievements say they can't figure out what the game is. Any ideas how to make them work?

Love your content, 2 issues I have onion os installation 1. Half the pbp games I upload dont load in the miyoo mini, just black screens that go on forever, mgs is one. Fftactics as well, and rracer4. Are there any options in retroarch that need modifying? Tekkn3, castlevania and many others work fine. 2. I see you always press select and menu to bring up a screen, that doesn't appear to work on my device Any help is appreciated

1. Try lowering the compression in PSX2PSP 2. That should be the default RetroArch menu button combo. Have you changed it in the Tweaks app?

Is there a reason why I would not simply convert everything to PBP instead of CHD vs. using CHD for single disk games and PBP for multi-disk?

Thanks so much for the video, I couldnt finish it for some reason once i clicked on the folder "CUE or GDI to CHD.bat" the terminal window closes almost immediately 2:18 so none of my games get converted and secondly where do I paste the chd files once they are converted? do i need to create ps1 emulator if so how?. Thank you for the viddo. I have a question PLEASE. My SD got corrupted in PS folder in Miyoo the second day of use, now trying to recover the full folder, I got the games in my computer but once I copied to the new folder nothing works. Where I can find a solution? I've tried to googled it but I don't even know how to find it, I'm old player.

Im using stock os on ra for the rg35xx plus. I tried to add ps1 game i put two bin files and a cue file in the folder. When i try boot up i just get like a very initial intro screen and it just doesn't go beyond that. Any ideas?

Do you have to change discs every time you want to load the game? For example Twisted Metal 2 has 12 discs (tracks) on the file I downloaded... how would I even know which one to load ... and that's quite a hassle every time I would load the game anyway?

I tried this process for many PS games which were bin. or cue. instead of pbp. but Final Fantasy VII and VIII didn't work even if I merged them. Maybe I didn't convert one after one to pbp before merging??

I came across a multi disc game Colony Wars where each Disc has 2 BIN files each. If I want to convert this to PBP, would I select all 4 BIN files as if this is a 4 Disc game to do the conversion?

Nope, absolutely no noticeable change, including loading times!

Some large games like lunar silver star have multiple files across multiple disks that say track 1 track 2 track 3 etc. How would I handle these Mr Breeze? I cant seem to put more than 3-4 files at a time to convert to pbp.

Whenever I load any of my Coleco vision games I always get The Coleco vision logo with the message: Turn off game before inserting game cartridge or Expansion Module I found a few other people online with the same problem but no solutions yet

Reviving an old video. Playing Spyro 1. I've got the psxonpsp660 bios. Bios setting is set to "auto". I haven't changed any other settings. I'm having some pretty significant slowdown on some levels, 18 fps or so. Any tweaks you'd recommend to squeeze out a bit more performance?

Hmm I've not played that far. You might try the SCPH1001.bin instead. Outside of the PSP etc. It has typically been the go-to bios for PSX.

Some chd games just give me a black screen or hang on a loading screen. I'm hoping this video will help.

Can onion OS work with any other Handheld? I have the Mini Plus and love the Onion OS with all my roms but want to ass PSP titles on a wider screen handset. Dont want to start over again.

Awesome video, but a question just to be clear... when I'm converting Multidisc games via psx2psp, I am kind of ignoring the cue file? When there is one disc, you seem to incorporate the file into the chd. But psx2psp seems to pick out just the bin file. This is normal? I don't need to make a chd of an individual disc, then throw it into psx2psp? Hope this makes sense to someone, but thank you for the great video.

Yeah you just need the .bin file, which can be tricky because if your game has multiple .bin files, you need to covert them into a single one first. I'll do an updated video for that soon.

Thanks for the great video tutorial. This is really helpful. I do have a request for a new video. I can't figure out how to use the Mame 2003Plus cheats. In fact, I can't even call up the Mame menu at all the access the cheats. It would be great if this works.

Does the non-pbp (unconverted) game work without issues? If so, something messed up in the conversion, or the compression level is too high. If it has the same issue, try a different bios or ROM.

Chronicles of the Sword had like 0ver 60 .bin files for both disks. how do i combine all 60 of those to 1 pbp file?

Download the CDMage 1.02.1 beta. Load your .cue file, then save as a new file. It'll combine the bins into one. Then you can use CHDMAN or PSX2PSP as desired :) Link: www.videohelp.com/software/CDMage

Do you know any way to merge discs into a pbp format on Mac? Ipops does not support merging discs :/

I'm not sure, but I don't see why not. Pretty sure the emulator saves data o'er game/region, not specific file

Thank you! Does the chd conversion work for other console roms, like saturn and dreamcast? I have quite a number of games for those platforms that are multi-track. I know the Miyu wont play them but maybe I could use them in something more powerful down the line...
