Nice video In case anyone is interested, performing the crouch dash cancel on the platform will make you come down from it, and you can buffer other inputs such as the nair or fair, which are good combo starters

Man, this is amazing! I don't play Kazuya but my old friend does. I bet he's happy about this. This can also help me learn how to better deal with Kaz. I am getting better against him but there are times where I lose stocks or take damage due to being unfamiliar with certain moves having armor or invincibility. This is overall a solid guide from a top player. 👏

I picked up Tekken 8 after my wife told me it was her favorite fighting series and that she has been playing since the 90s. She destroyed me in our first match ever (with Ling Xiaoyu) so quickly that I felt like a beginner at a fighting game again. She did these kinds of inputs as naturally as I did smash attacks, but seemingly had way more moves than I could conjure for myself. Coming back to Smash, afterward, I can really appreciate how well Kazuya was implemented with respect to his tilts and inputs. His diagonal forward up tilt feels the exact same in Tekken, too. Mash it 4 times for a multi-hit sweep kick that can punish a whiffed attack in neutral. It serves the same functions and feels the same to perform. Honestly, Sakurai showed a lot of respect to Tekken.

I’m going on about a month of learning Kaz and this released at the perfect time. Thanks Riddles!

One additional thing to mention about laser while recovering is that it resets your downward momentum and lifts you up a tiny bit. It doesn't make a "huge" difference but you can use it to squeeze a little bit more distance out of recoveries. I especially like to use it when I do an up-b that can't quite make it to ledge, I can laser > air dodge and get a little more distance than just doing air dodge.

Just a tip on how to consistently EWGF, just treat the down motion as a down smash. Tilt down and press A like a down smash and flick down forward. Helps a lot at least for me.

Just a tip I learned from the ferps tech: make sure that you’re holding down the entire time. Otherwise you’ll shoot past the platform or end up not having enough time to read your opponent

Crouching with Kazuya on a platform without dropping through, to use any of his while rising or while crouched options is frustratingly inconsistent. 🗿
