If the cutscenes are not synced, what does the other player experience when a cutscene plays?

They stay in the game and can continue free roaming. There are also cutscenes that basically play in the world, the second player can then interrupt them leading to some hilarious cutscenes

@@DarkViperAU There is an option to sync cutscenes across players, but it's unstable and usually crashes. Frankly not sure about it's development or even it's open sourceness. Was just happy enough to find a way to screw around in gta missions with a friend so i wanted to share it :D

ayo bro. a lot of respect and one love for this video. we tried to launch a game and it works great, but i got a couple questions - can you help please, if u don't mind? is there any way to get working phone for player 2? (client side) what to do when story mission was failed? restart the whole lobby or something else? any way to do missions together (host and client side) with separate NPC, story cars, tasks, enemies and etc.?

No idea about the phone. check if there are any settings in that F7 menu to enable a phone in multiplayer. If not, then probably only the host can use it. When a story mission was failed, it's the same as in singleplayer, host can use their phone to just restart the mission instantly or you can go back to the mission marker/starting point. Not entirely sure what do you mean by separate NPC, cars, tasks, enemies? When you play in this way shown in the tutorial, you can play same missions but coop, together. You can drive different cars and shoot same enemies. Could you explain more in depth what exactly you want?

@@KatWithCigarette thanks with responce man the last thing about separate missions, i meant if there any way to play missions for both players at the same time. if u get my idea right- i mean that for example there can be mission from Roman and Bruce. Can player 1 and player 2 somehow start both missions and play it on the same lobby game?

some of these arnt necessary, There is a basic downgrader that installs most of what you need, with the only mod being the trainer menue. GFWL works just fine, people joining often dont need to be in multiplayer for it to work either

In our experience we couldn't join one another if we're not both in multiplayer

There might be a config file where you can rebind navigation keys, check around gta 4 folder if there are any zolika .ini config files with such a setting

Seems like a lot of people are having this issue recently. What if even they don't get an invitation, perhaps they can go through GFWL and just find something like "join game"?

Don't downgrade the saves and make sure you have a saves backup in case something goes wrong.

This could happen if your friend is not in multiplayer session yet. Make sure that before you invite them that they have used their phone to host their own multiplayer session. Let me know if it helps.

The menu isn't registering my inputs of 2,5 and 8. Even while toggling numlock on and off.

Ended up editing ZMenuIV.ini If you replace these lines with these values it will change the trainer navigation to be the arrow keys instead. MenuUp=38 MenuDn=40 MenuLeft=46 MenuRight=13 MenuEnter=39 MenuBack=37 Now we have a new issue, we were able to login to gfwl last night and now xbox live connection is failing over and over. Any ideas?

Tried it with a friend. However, the game crashes in cutscenes when Player 2 interrupts it like for example the cutscene where Roman gives Niko his phone.

Yes, some cutscenes will lock up when interrupted. I think there is even a mission that will crash consistently no matter what, so you will have to play it through singleplayer to continue.

Is your friends Gta 4 unmodded? Double check the tutorial to make sure your friend downgraded everything correctly. Also don't enable too many silly settings in the cheat menu(F7). I also don't recommend using it during gameplay cus I noticed it crashes often. I also know of a few missions that crash in multiplayer no matter what, so if there is a specific mission that will always crash for you, complete it through singleplayer to continue

@@KatWithCigarette Thanks for the answer! we are not sure but maybe we did something wrong with the custom sync. just the client should have it activated right? and do you know a way to tell steam not to update? we are currently going offline to play, is there a other way?

@@AUSTRIABomberman Not sure about the updates. My steam never tried to update GTA after downgrading. As for custom sync, I don't really remember, sorry, it's been a while since we played it. Try only host and then both and see which works better, if at all.

Game unmodded for both of you? Both of you downgraded as shown in the video? If so, try to uninstall the game fully and try downgrading again. Sometimes it doesn't work for me on the first time either, but never with "unable to join the session" sadly, so I can't help you with an exact solution@@marc_smd0484
