    First time visitor to your channel and thrilled that I found it. As a rhythm focused player, I'm always struggling to find high quality pieces focused on laying down the rhythm track. I've played this song for years, but now realize that I was pretending to play it. Thanks for showing me the light. Great work, great fun. Thank You!

    This was amazing! I’ve been trying to find the correct chords for the intro and this definitely sounds most like it! Amazing noodling and phrasing man. Anyone wondering about the solo, I like to think of the first set of chords as your E major scale and the second set of chords as B Dorian (or A Major to keep it simple). If you can switch a half step To the other scale as the chords change it sounds super cool and dramatic 👀

    Agreed on the solo - I think he's jamming between E and A keys. But the intro - that's it! I've been trying to figure it out, thanks for pointing out the alt-Emaj7 chord, I needed that. Thank you.

    You are a great musician & add the singing your better than good. The only notes i cant figure is when you play A at the end of the 1st verse where you hit 2 accent notes before going into the final EAE 1st verse. Just discovered your huge library what a gold mine, Super thankful!!

To make a video of one of the best, but sadly most ignored song by everybody from Tucson to Tucumcari. Yes, I know its not a Grateful Dead song but in a way it's by their nearest kin band, Little Feat, and the song is Juliette, from the Dixie Chicken album. How about it. Please?

    Really great stuff man that open A to the second Emaj7 takes a while to get but makes it sound so much better than just staying on the Emaj7... so when you solo over the Emaj7>Bm>A do you focus on hitting the D (3rd) over the Bm and the C# over the A (3rd). Any other tricks to making that sound so good, I’ve been working on this for a while trying to figure out the solo. Thanks man!

  • @TobyDavvy

    @TobyDavvy

    3 жыл бұрын

    I know this may sound extremely rudimentary, but I just do my best to follow the chord progression. I try to either flow between or change up what I’m doing based on what chords are being played. It’s what Jerry did and how I try to look at it.

    Thank you for the kind words. I’m self taught. When I’m saying anything about theory, it’s very loose. Just what I’ve picked up. When I say something is in E, it just means that’s the key. And you can now move freely within the key of E to solo and whatnot. I do live solo lessons once a month and you can learn a bit more there if you want. I’ll be doing a live one this coming Thursday (11/11/2021) at noon EST.
