    This is the most thorough and clear tutorial on Dice Masters ever. Since the attack and block part kinda don't make sense to some extent, especially the part where damage is dealt mutually, I had been having a problem understanding and remembering it until watching your clip.

    I always loved Dice masters but never got too deep in it because the scene never really developed and every one stopped playing it. So I have the Uncanny Xmen and Yhigioh set gathering dust, I decided to take it out and see if my gf liked it because I saw the TMNT turtles in a half shell set on a store for only 15$ and I got very tempted but I did not know if I was going to give it good use. So we sat and played to Xmen set witch I lost some of the dice and cards. But she liked it and we played a game after that one and then another. So I got the set and we like it a lot. I got the spiderman starter set for only 10$ today. I was wondering. Are there any other stand alone sets like the TMNT one? I'm not thinking on getting in the competitive scene I just want to casual play with my GF. BTW you got yourself a new subscriber. Keep up with the dice masters content!

    Great guide! Could you make an in-depth guide about the attack step? Last time we played the new WH40K sets we got a bit confused about what comes after what, esp. with the new range ability. The biggest issue for us: A) Declare attackers, when attack abilities, declare blockers, when block abilities, attacker globals, blocker globals, range, combat dmg, KO. or B) Declare attackers, when attack abilities, range, declare blockers, when block abilities, attacker globals, blocker globals, combat dmg, KO. Or non of the above, the problem is the once blocked is always blocked doctrine. Because if we could use range before blockers decleared (and as I know it is a when attacks ab), we could KO dice before they could be decleared as blockers, so less blockers to deal with. Probably Im more confused about this as I should be. Thx for the help in advance!

  • @DMArmada

    I'd check out my range keyword video for more clarification, but in short, B is closer to correct. Range is a when attacks ability that triggers after attackers are declared but before blockers. It is ability damage and not combat damage. Think of it like breath weapon. Just because a die used breath weapon doesn't mean it can't also deal combat damage later in the attack step.

    If I have Jubilee X-Men Field Leader and my opponent has Mystique Freedom Force. When Jubilee activates her ability it does 1 damage to opponent and 1 extra damage to a character die. Mystique reduce damage from my characters abilites by 1. In this case, if I assign the extra damage to an opponent’s character die, Mystique reduces both damages by 1 since were given to different targets, or does it just reduce 1 damage?

    Excellent video tutorial for an excellent dice game. Congratulations. Please I need you some help about one point. Please correct me if I am wrong. On the first round of the game, you take 4 dice from the bag but only roll 3. The 4th goes to Used Pile. That's clear to me. The question is...If you roll a Sidekick and you want to keep it, this one can be fielded but CAN´T ATTACK. Is that correct? Thank you very much. Best regards.

  • @DMArmada

    @DMArmada

    4 жыл бұрын

    That is correct! Also note that when you go first, the 4th die goes to the Spent Pile or Transition Zone rather than the Used Pile, meaning you can't interact with it via globals on that first turn.

    @@DMArmada Thak you very very much. You helped me a lot. Of course, I meant that the 4th die goes to Spent/In transit zone. Related to that, I can´t understand why Wizkids continues printing their playmats like the first set in 2014 (without "In transit/Spent" zone). I love your channel; the standard bearer of this awsome game. Regards.

    Great video. Everything was clearly showed. But I have 1 problem with this game. Attack step. Maybe it's because I don't understand English-language in 100%. I need to see how it works with attack and defense. When I've started to play just watched on numbers on dices. And just dice with bigger number of attack than other have in defense win. But that other dice can win with stronger dice. Maybe that other dice can make damage when can defending. But how if is weaker? In some videos I saw it and don't know how it's possible. 😅

    Angelus Rufus two dice can block one. The defenders get to hit the big one and maybe take it out. There are other cards that help smaller dice beat bugger ones, too!

    Have you ever played TMNT DIcemasters? The rules of play appear to be same but the set up is different. Like, I think you only have two characters and there’s a common area to buy dice from. But, there’s nothing to say what determines these cards.

  • @DMArmada

    @DMArmada

    I have! TMNT is an expansion to DM that introduces more cards to the game. It's got the same rules, the rulebook just changes up the startup game to make things more flavorful and thematic!

    +DMArmada It was the set up that I wasn’t understanding. In the beginning of the rulebook it’s just a picture with no explanation, then it goes on to how to play. If you fast-forward about 10 pages it gives an explanation of set up. I kind of jumped the gun in asking questions not realizing set up was going to be in the middle of the book. I really do appreciate your response, thank you

    @@DMArmada It's basically MTG but with no mana pool. 4 different types of cards, Forwards (characters), Backups (supports), Summons (sorcery/instants) & Monsters (artifacts/handtraps). Each card you have produces Crystal Points (mana) when discarded to pay for cards being put out on field. "Short" version but you decide what cards you want to discard in order to play the one you would need or want. Try it out if you get a chance.
