    If you both place a worker on a road or city that someone else is also on (that isn’t a directly adjacent tile) Once the gap is filled so to speak and a tile is played connecting those two. Then Two workers could be on the same road or city.

    I think for a crash-course type video (that can also serve as a game trailer for the uninitiated), this video is perfect. There are plenty of other in-depth videos for games such as this that can illuminate such nuances as two followers winding up on the same road or castle. This video wasn't trying to be like those others. If she's reading this: Bravo on this brilliant and concise video.

    @@jaerivus The video description is "how to play Carcassonne in 3 minutes" - I watched it prior to playing my first ever game, and I felt it did a really good job except for mentioning the sharing aspect, which is a key part of the game (not really a nuance). In my opinion, if an extra 30 seconds had been spent on that it would have been perfect.

    Nicely done! The only thing that you could have highlighted more is how to actually "invade" other cities or roads. You only show what's happening when there is a tie, but you do not explain how to produce one (or that this is an actual strategy to steal other cities). But apart from this, I really like the way you explain everything and the video quality! :)

    Yeah, I debated with myself on whether or not I wanted to mention it. My philosophy right now is that I should only explain rules, and let players discover the little tricks and strategies those rules allow for themselves. It's tricky in cases like this where that behavior's pretty hard to discover by yourself. Thank you for the feedback!

  • @AdopeD

    I totally see your point. I know that this rule is something a lot of new players get wrong and they might think it is "forbidden" to create such a situation. But I think your indirect explanation of what happens in a split is enough to see that this is a valid move. I'm looking forward to your next videos! :)

    Great video! I agree with some others, that it would be helpful to include the fact that two or more features with followers can merge, and explain how that leads to sharing the points or vying for a majority. Another rule you missed is that once farmers are placed, they remain for the rest of the game even if the farm is closed during play. Cheers!

    Yeah, I might do an "advanced" video someday covering that. EDIT: Oh, I misread! As for the farmers, I meant for it to be implied that they'd carry over to farms too. I'll probably do that "advanced" video at some point to clarify farms!

    have a question for you that maybe i cannot grasp from the rules provided from the game. Farmers: Do cities give each players farmers points, i am talking about the case that two different farms are attached to the same city. Does that mean that a single player can get multiple times the same points from the same city from different fields? If one city attached on different fields from different players, does the player with most farmers get the sole points, even though their farms are not attached? Knights : Lets take example the tile placement from the video at 1:46 and say that the two different cities where actually one, with common piece the top left of the video. Does that piece(the top left) count as 4 points or 2 points? If my explanation confused you plz tell me where Thanks in advance

    Is it true you must do the actions in SPECIFIC order. Draw/Place Tile>Place Meeple>Score Improvements. Why I'm asking this distinction. If you do not have any more meeples, as I understand it, you cannot place a tile that completes an improvement, thereby scoring it and taking back your meeple, and then placing your meeple on your newly placed tile. Example being if you had a two tile city with a meeple in the city, and you have no other meeples, you cannot play a tile that has a road, and would also complete that city, and then move that meeple to the road. Any thoughts?

    I hoped to get rid of my confusion regarding farmland, sadly this didn't really solve it. When at the end of the game does a farmland have to be completely secluded (by roads and etc.) and does that apply when a farmland peace is on the edge of the map? This is the only detail of this game I can't get quite right yet from reading the rules alone.

  • @codypagunsan

    @codypagunsan

    Terker2 Terker2 to my understanding, farmers are only (and always) scored at the end of the game. They don't have to be completed by roads etc. The farm will just stretch out as far of contiguous field there is, sometimes up to the edge of the board. Theyre pretty OP within the base game because of how far they can stretch and the completed castles they can touch; the first couple expansions try to balance this out by adding more value to the other feature types

    Hi guys, saw your comment and never got around to answering, sorry about that! Farms won't get scored until the end of the game, and it's going to cover all of the contiguous green parts (anything green that's not completely cut off by roads or cities). Now that you've figured out how big your farm is, earn 3 points for every completed city within your farm.

    If there is a draw of the number of people standing in a feauture, both of the players get same points (eg. in city both players get 2 points per tile) if one person has more people in a feauture than the other person, the person with the most people in the feautre gets the points (you still get the same number of points as if there was only one person in the feature) Sry if you could not understand anything :( Pardon my english

These would also be a boon to board game cafes. One of the worst things about going to one of those is wasting time learning the rules of a new game. Videos like this dramatically decrease those time and get people playing quicker and start having fun.
