That’s good to know because I didn’t know about how to submit it prior to release but my latest song they put on the radio official Spotify playlist that’s crazy I didn’t even realize

Dude…you’re dropping your album the same day we’re dropping ours..:which ironically is my 43rd birthday 🤣 Seriously, though, the pitch is the part I need the most help with. We’re not very commercial much of the time so any little nuggets of wisdom are highly appreciated. I’m literally watching this as I type my pitch. I realized it’s 3 weeks away… I think I might hold off on the pitch until September’s release, which is way more commercial…but more importantly it’s for a special cause (my portion of any royalties are being donated) . I think it’s better to wait now. I’m glad I stayed up late (early?) and saw this

Absolutely !! Middle plan is the best imo
But you can’t create an artist profile on Spotify until DistroKid has released your first song. Once they do you can link it to your artist profile. However once your song is released it’s too late to pitch to a playlist. Is there something I’m missing? How can we pitch our very first song release to a playlist?

Fam so when you say make sure we follow artist's is that using spotify profile with same email that's used in spotify for artist?

If you use Spotify to stream music, whatever profile you log in with, follow the Artist profile!

What doesnt work? You absolutely have to pitch unreleased, scheduled music, nothing released can be pitched
