What place/area do you recommend for salmon fishing during this time of the year? I plan on going next weekend for the first time.

If you’re interested in booking a trip I can get you dialed in on exactly where you need to go for Atlantic salmon, coho salmon, and steelhead right now. There also might be a few lake trout around.

The rod action we were using is a medium action 8-17 lb

You can straight retrieve for a few seconds then jerk jerk kinda like a rapala

Should dead stick some live shinners for lk trout and perch .. could also setup for the white fish in there. Chum area with salmon spawn then use steelhead spawn threaded on single hook .. need to boil the steelhead spawn just for sec not to long. Don't over boil. Get the water boiling then drop the spawn in just few seconds .. some nice whitefish in there can spear them once the ice fishing starts. Enjoy them lk trout they stopped stocking them in lake Huron .. think they're trying to bring back the elawives only reason they cut million lk trout

I understand that but thats underminding your chances of landing the fish the closer you are getting them to the net
