I've said for probably 20+ years that Eric is the inventor, the OG, the king of jigging Salmon/trout in Lake Michigan. Of all the times I've done this over the years, of all the videos of his I've watched, it never gets old. The one other lure I'd add to Eric's list of three is gold or silver blade baits.

Thanks E.H. nothing better than trout/salmon caught rod in hand! We are so fortunate to live so close to such to the great resource, the Great Lakes, (and) Lake Michigan specifically. Just a wakeup call for the fall season ahead. You made my morning!

I have been jigging on the other side of the lake from you for many years, always enjoy your videos and always learn something. Have ben out twice this week already landing a 22# King Tuesday. Have the livescope set up as well. On my bucket list is coming over to try for some of those big browns we don't see often on the Michigan side. Particularly interested in trying the fly rod for Browns.

Would love to try this in the Niagara River in Lake Ontario. Trolling bores me to tears. I'll have to wait for this fall and give it a whirl.

Love your videos Eric! I had a few questions. 1.Why don't you use a spiral wrapped bait-casting rod for jigging as they are much better with techniques that introduce slack. 2.What is the length of the spoons that you are using? Do you make them glow in the dark for night fishing? 3.Does the Jigging stroke length and cadence vary with respect to the time of the day ? 4.Is there any pattern that these fish follow during Aug -Sep when they frequent river mouths? 5.While shore fishing for Salmon at night do you think ribbed paddle tails would be a good choice ? specially black? I often see stripped bass fishermen always use black for night fishing however great lakes salmon fishermen always use glow in the dark stuff. I am a shore angler based out of Toronto Canada, and these questions are in the context of shore casting for kings. Any help would be highly appreciated. First comment!

how does one get the ability to go fishing with you? I'm in the Kenosha area and i have been watching for years. I'm a salmon/trout fisherman since i moved here 5 years ago. I only harbor/pier fished and only caught a handful of fish over that time. Your personality is a delight and I would really enjoy learning from you

Could you show the differences of the brown, steelhead, coho, and king in side by side frames? They seem so similar and shiny silver at a glance. I know kings and the black mouth is about it. The brown seems spottier when all silver. Unless they are all gold and brown with the blue and red dots is easier.

For the plastics, are you basically using a straight retrieve with a few pops here and there?

Hi Eric, How do you get your alewives? Are they hard to keep alive like shad? Have you tried other traditional live baits.....say night crawlers? It's probably weird they would bite night crawlers....but if you think about it, why do wallleyes bit night crawlers? Great show. Thanks

Alewife can usually be caught around the piers using cast nets or sabiki rigs, they can be kinda hard to keep on a hook when you cast them out but they stay alive for a while.

That was an awesome beat down session. On your live bait rod, how far down do you set the bait and you think skein would work also?

I’m was at Waukegan Harbor today. Marked a lot but not a single bite. Do you think it’s worth the drive to come out to Milwaukee next weekend? Im new to the area and today was my first day on the lake, also I’m on a kayak so I’m just looking for a good harbor to fish

Beautiful fish! 👍👍 But if you could quit that yelling and screaming around all the time your video's would be more enjoyable. At a certain point it's getting really annoying and irritating. One can exaggerate...
