It acutally should work best with non-newtonian fluids called bingham fluids that need a certain shear force to behave like fluids. This means they have a bigger zone with non-slip condition. Ketchup is one of those bingham fluids. :)

Such a shame that Kamikoto has never been made by a Japanese knives maker nor has any history as such (many quoted as a Chinese company in expert groups). I highly doubt you can name any Michelin star chef or any pro chef using Kamikoto or endorsing it. I couldn't find any trace. I am open to find out I am wrong - if you can provide their name and endorsement of the product. Damaging to the Japanese knives reputation. "Machine made knives from 2nd grade steel". But surely they have heavily invested in PR on KZread. Your video was amazing as usual thou.

Side note: A metal plaque (brand name/ser. no.) fell off of a warmer we use in concessions about 18 months ago. I couldn't find any glue, so I used a fine layer of ketchup to re-stick it. The continuous heat basically vulcanized it into glue and that thing is STUCK FOREVER.

you could actually improvise a device like this it in the wild when walking you dog using just normal doggy poo bag and some sort of card-like object. (If you want to try it but don't have a dog try asking random dog owners on the street if I you clean up after their dogs -- fun[tm] guaranteed.)

I think it may be a particle size issue. Larger particles are dominated by gravitation, but smaller particles are dominated by electrostatic forces. Like how the flour kinda worked, but the other solids didn't. That's why there's little adhesion and cohesion to get the material to stick to your sloped surface.

I like your channel but I don't like the kamikoto sponsorship since they straight up lie about where the knives come and their mandatory talking points cause you to repeat their lies as well. All their talk about Japanese steel and craftsmanship is cleverly worded to make you think their entire line comes from Japan when only a very select few knives are made in Japan. Most of them come from China and use very weak steel.

Dude, i think you had it. What went wrong with placing the sauce back down was just which hand of yours you moved. When picking up the sauce, your hand on top remained stationary and only your bottom hand moved. But when you placed the sauce down, your top hand moved when only your bottom hand should have moved again. Great video. Really love your content

This is great for those times you want to show the secret face or words in your sauce, also able to place it back means you can assemble cakes aand other designs/patterns on a separate area then when ready place them, just pick em up and hen place back. Really cool idea, next video needs to be you on dragon's den or shark tank lol Idea for dry stuff, try a pattern of grooves or something the dry stuff can get grabbed by or fall into maybe?

Great video! But please see Shadiversity's video about kamikoto knives - they aren't special steel (they are actually low-grade steel), they aren't made in any special way (not special japanese techniques), and they are actually sub-standard knives and extremely over-priced.

These are used in every (at least German) bakery though not to pick things up, just to put them in the oven. Using a paddle is more work and really doesn't work properly anyway when you have 10 oven compartments stacked on top of each other. Also saves on energy as the oven doors don't have to be open as long.
