It’s very important to come off your gas when changing gear - and once you have entered the new gear physically with your hand you will need to add some gas once the clutch has been lifted to its biting point. This will ensure a lovely transition for a smooth drive whilst increasing your speed and/or making progress
Changing gear means you have the capabilities of driving at higher speeds and you will save petrol when you go up to the correct higher gear at the correct time.
Block gear changes up are possible in certain situations but this video is just for going up the gears one by one to see the routine needed -
