How long did it take you?
Had my first driving lesson today and after watching this I realised I was doing that thing when you push down on the clutch gently while driving the whole time - oops! But now that I know you don't need your foot to be pressing on clutch all the time it's made me think so much more simply about it! Apparently my steering is terrible though, wish me luck! And thank you for explaining things sooo clearly! :)

Everyone rests their feet on the clutch continuously when new to driving. Don't worry - after you get more used to it you end up letting your foot rest to the floor on the left more.

Yeah did you pass?
Thank you! I've had my license for almost a year just so that I knew I had it. Never drove again after passing the test. Now I'm about to get a car so I definitely need a refresher and lots of practice. Love this
seems simple but when you actually start driving all that goes away especially on intersections in middle of a city when there a lot of traffic
"Give it a waggle" 😂
Hated the clutch at first but this guy has given me amazing tips! Thank you.
Hey, just wanted to say thank you for this video. At the time of writing this, I just got my first manual car today. I had to learn how to drive it as soon as I got it. I definitely stalled quite a few times and experienced the kangaroo effect, but I found your video a few hours later when I had some time and I just want to say thank you for making these! They've made me much more comfortable and confident with driving a manual car. I'll make sure to try any of the points you made, especially with the "biting point" on the clutch. Knowing that has made a lot of things make more sense. So again, thank you so much! I really appreciate what you've done here. Keep it up!
My driving instructor told me not to cross my arms over when you're steering as your wrists will break if the airbag goes off, and if you're wearing a watch then it'll slam into your head/face too, so I'll lose marks in the driving test if they see it. This is the only thing I wondered about in the video - the rest is all clear and concise points and a great help !! :))
Im here because my hubby was teaching me to drive today and all l can say is that it ended in tears, l love how calm you are while teaching
You really explained to my understanding, unlike the previous tutorials I watched before yours where I was confused and upset. I enjoy your video and I love you.

I use to admire my friends driving. Many times I asked for a tutorial and practice, at some point there is always an urgency or excuse and I havent got the chance I longed for. After going through this tutorial I believe I will do it myself next time I find a rental.. Thanks Man.

I’m probably halfway or more through my driving now but it’s nice to watch a video like this because it has re assured me that I do actually know what I’m doing whilst I drive.
I am watching this, 4.5 years later and I am like why didn't I get to this one sooner! It is a lifesaver of sorts, and I have definitely learnt something. I am looking at refreshing my driving since I haven't been on the wheel for years, and I want to learn more about driving a manual car because that is what is at my disposal at the moment. I have had a fear of driving for ages, and I need to get over it already. So... thanks to this video I am regaining some confidence.

Learning to drive now and this is the first video I've seen and it's really easy to follow and it's frustrating 👍🏼 Going to use this alot. Thank you so much!
I don’t even know why I’m watching this. I have always drove manual since the day I had my driving lessons. Why is this even in my recommended? Why am I even watching this? 😂 But you’re awesome at explaining! You would make a great instructor!
For someone who's family doesn't even own a car, this seems to be a well done video :3
I wish this video gets to the top of search results for "how to drive a car" 4 years after upload and it's still the best, no nonsense tutorial. Thanks a lot!
A really helpful and easy to follow video, thanks very much for posting this. I've got my first driving lesson in a few days and I've been watching this video quite a few times and going through all the motions over and over in my head . I'm feeling a lot more relaxed now about driving . Here's hoping all goes well but thanks 👍

Clutch: - pushing in - releasing out - balancing with throttle To move off you have to doko release out the clutch as you accelerate Find the bite in your heel. Try and hit it with the underside of your big toe . Or your foot bottom in general tbh Starting car: push in clutch Moving off; pushing in clutch, releasing clutch with balance. Stopping: pushing in clutch Push clutch all the way in to change gears
