How to Perform a Brake Fluid Change - Dodge Grand Caravan (Town and Country)

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This video will show you how to do a full Brake Fluid Change on your Dodge Grand Caravan, and Chrysler Town & Country.
This video is demonstated on a Grand Caravan with standard (non-heavy duty) brakes. You can tell if your car has standard or heavy-duty brakes by looking at the FRONT caliper. Our vehicle has a single piston front caliper and so is fitted with standard brakes (heavy duty brakes have a dual piston front caliper).

    Excellent job, sir. Precise, detailed, 'just the facts, man' approach. Clean, easy to see, well lit video and scene splicing. I've been doing brake jobs for many years and I took away some new tips. Thanks you!

    Thank you very much for the video, especially the order to do it in. Doesn't match the general rule you see in almost every brake bleed video of farthest to closest with the back passenger first.

    Thank you, much appreciated. Yes, we stuck by the Dodge Workshop manual for this video, but did also outline the more common proceedure that people will be most used to. Can you do a video troubleshooting a P0302 or any 300 after spark plug, ignition coil, and injector has been changed? I have a dodge gran Caravan 2018 and it has gave me this issue and I saw that is common in these models.

    The brake fluid change process is the same for both, just visually a little different for the calipers. This video will get you through the process for both :-) www.paypal.me/youwrench --- To help support us (for both you and others reading this) there are a few things you can do: 1) Donations both needed and welcome! So…asking for a friend, of course, if the reservoir did empty, what does an airlocked brake mean? It looks like from some googlefu that one bleeds all the lines of air by pumping then opening to let it push air out?

    if i changed my rear brakes and calipers should i bleed all 4 brakes?

    What size hose do you use. I've watched a couple of different videos like this, and none of them have said what size hose to use to go on the bleeder screw. It's hard to find videos for my 2008 Town and Country.

    Is this the same bleeding procedure if I changed out both calipers on the front wheels only?

  • @YouWrench

    If you changed the front calipers then you should bleed the air out of each caliper in turn as you progress. Then at the end you can perform the full brake fluid change (as per this video) if you want to make sure the entire system is clean and fresh. You ideally should not perform the brake fluid change proceedure if you have air in the calipers. Instead, get the air out of those first of all. We have done a caliper change video, it's the rear, but the process for bleeding the caliper is identical. It is here and may be sueful: kzread.info/dash/bejne/e2iWksyqYZawiLA.html Hope that helps 👍 ----------------------------------------------- To help support us: 1) Please be sure to use our Amazon Links! 2) Please ensure you LIKE our video's, and SUBSCRIBE to our channel! 3) Donations always welcome! It depends how much you bleed through each caliper, but generally a litre is enough for the system (have two litres ready just in case you use a little more than you expect). Is it necessary to bleed the abs after bleeding the calipers?

  • @YouWrench

    @YouWrench

    Жыл бұрын

    No, for a brake fluid change the standard process is as shown here, bleeding via the calipers. You need to flush a minimum of 25% of the brake fluid capacity through each caliper. This way the fluid gets 25% x 4 = 100% changed between all four calipers. So when you flush the brake fluid are there any special scan tool that pumps the abs system separately?
