This is the first time that I am learning about chokes. Do the chokes work with any shotgun? As I have a 16 gauge with a 12 gauge pattern due to the barrel being cut off by two inches, and it is 67 years old.

Screw in chokes were first introduced in 1969, so most likely your shotgun will not accept different chokes. If the shotgun does not have threads in the barrel it’s a fixed choke. Many guns with fixed chokes, will have it stamped near the breech, I.e. full, modified, improved cylinder, etc. hope this helps.
