How To Parboil Rice - Chef Lola's Kitchen

Here is my video on how to parboil Rice.
I used 2 Cups of Rice and I filled a 5 quarts
pot to about 3 quarter full.
The parboiled Rice can be used to make Recipes like Jollof Rice, Fried Rice a mixture of Rice and Beans.......

    This is great, I've never heard of "Parboil" rice but it looks like a very easy and logical.. Using cool water to stop the cooking process makes sense and we will give it a try.

    +Cooking Thai Food Thank you. This is a common practice in Nigeria, though our rice comes parboiled (excluding the local Rice) but we still use the term 'parboil' to indicate the process of precooking the Rice inorder to remove the excess starch before proceeding to the main recipe.

    if you want to make a dosa batter, you have to soak it in the water for 6 hours when will we soak it again in the water after you did this?? can i do it right after the parboiled rice done? or i should wait for some kind of time to soak it again in the water??

    Uncle Benz, other long grain, parboiled rice instructs not to rinse to retain the vitamins

    does the par-boilrd rice have to be cooked right away? or is there any way to store it to use later ?

    I often use it as soon as I parboil it, but you can definitely store it in the Fridge for a couple of days. I will not advice freezing it anyways. I hope that helps?

    This is not true parboiling. This technique is referred to as 'blanching'.
