I am a complete beginner who, because I am no artist, can make repeated attempts to produce a decent little painting with no pressure and no expectation. Your tutorials are a delight to watch; perhaps I'll be abler to do some of what you are doing one day, but just watching and listening to you while you work is so peaceful. Despite not having real talent to speak of, just the attempt has been great for me. Your tutorials are at once peaceful, informative and encouraging. I had no idea that I was going to watch 3 of your tutorials on waves, water & reflections this morning, but I'm glad I did - excellent tips and ideas for beginners and improvers. It's lovely to see your mixing palette so that I can see the water/pigment ratio which is always something that I could improve on. Brilliant tutorial - thanks Paul x

Lovely paintings. I love water, sea, river, lake, stream etc and I really want to paint it properly. So this tutorial was just what I needed. And I love the little touches of humour. ‘Orange uniforms……no, not Guantanamo Bay’. Lol. 😂

Now, here you are, offering us simpler, straightforward, and proven techniques to create different "looks" in water, including ROUGH water, which other artists usually avoid or fail at.
