40 days ago my dad passed away and really miss him, he loved to paint acquarels. Paul, when you saw your video I felt very happy, I found the teacher who reminds me my dad! Painting, loving, kind! Thank you so much for making these gorgeous videos 🥰

Mr. Clark you are more than an artist. You’re a magician of watercolor and your paint brush is your magic wand. Thanks again for an amazing tutorial.

Thank you. Off to have a go. Your book landed yesterday too..... really well written. Thank you 🥰
I would never have thought about spraying the paper and tilting the board to get the streaks going like that. It makes the lights looks more natural and is a great tip.
If there is a magic formula for teaching watercolour and making it fun, you certainly have it. Loved the paintings.

I've never seen an art video that is so detailed, step by step, elaborative and explanatory than this. You explained everything so beautiful and to the point that the video was highly interesting and educational to watch! I learned quite a lot about watercolors and I will surely incorporate them to my paintings! Especially the tips to painting various skies! Thank you for this amazing tutorial! I learned alot from it! ❤❤

Paul, the fact that you can’t reply to all of our comments is a very good sign, and absolutely understandable! It’s funny, I was just about to search through your videos to see if I could find one on the Northern Lights, and here you are showing us this brilliant painting of one...uncanny. I have been lucky enough to witness this amazing phenomenon many times whilst living and travelling to the North of Canada (you should see this light show North of the Arctic Circle!) and I have to say you have really captured the magic. Thank you, once again, for making our Wednesday viewing so inspiring ❤️

Re watched these. They really are very informative and I will have a little practice. You do inspire me Paul. Plus I lie the colours you use and the fact you give us alternatives. Nothing better than some good Northern Lights "Splat!"..... Unless it's a........ matching shirt? (It take's a fair bit of time to match wardrobe and art lesson) Your classroom must be a hoot! Keep these exercise tutorials coming! I reference them all the time. Thank you for taking the time to pass on your knowledge and love of art........ And for reinforcing that mixing blue and green makes a great Aurora Borealis but even a Leprechaun won't mix it for shirts😂🤣😂 Cheers Mate!

Wow..I’m trying to learn..old dog here. I realized I’m trying to paint like it’s oil (which I also don’t know how to do) very “control each stroke etc” and then saw Anastasia Mily (sp?) and many, many others on how to let the paint/colors flow, not scrub it around, yet, I still need much..much..much more practice! I have so much respect for watercolor now…
Love everything you do! I am a self-taught-incompetent artist, STI for short, and proud of it. Since watching your youtubbie thingies, I've had even more enthusiasm for painting 🎨 with successful results, and, well, thank you! Kathryn from Paradise on Vancouver Island BC, also called Parksville BC.

Paul, I am 67 years old snd have just picked up my first watercolor brush since 9th grade art class in 1969. I am truly inspired by your talent and am doing all I can to mimic it. I have watched all of your tutorials and am just now putting brush to paper. It seriously is not as easy as you make it look🙀 but am trying my best. I am determined to make this happen. My biggest problem is water to paint proportions with half pans. I know you work in the tubes and use a 60/40% water to paint. How do I judge that using the cakes of pigments? I am also working daily on my perspectives and composition. Again, you make it look so easy! I enjoy you and Margo so much, I am even considering one of your cruises. I am in Louisiana USA. Thank you for all you do to make this such a joy. Best wishes, Christina
@ArtbyPaulClark
2 жыл бұрын
Hi Christina - thanks for the lovely comment and it would be great to see you on the cruise. The 60/40 ratio is only a rough guide - just practice on some scrap paper mixing washes, without putting the pressure on you to paint anything in particular.
Thank you Paul, I’m grateful and I learn a lot with you.
