Marvelous painting as expected -- but even more marvelous is knowing that these items sit on your drawing table and are part of what makes you who you are! Significant artifacts.

I love it! The lesson in tonality is superb. I learned a lot by watching this video. In my studio I am surrounded by childhood toys, pictures, and other memorabilia that just makes me happy. It's hard to not be inspired when you're surrounded with happy memories. I would love to see what you could do with some of your wife's cherished things. A girly collection would be fun to see what you could do with it, plus you would get brownie points for creating something she would cherish. Great work!

Andrew - I've watched and experienced your kindness and generosity in projecting and teaching the world about you and your art for some years now. It's fabulous to take onboard your ideas, techniques, and the simple fact you actually produce the goods in a friendly, inspiring and to-the-point presentations without flim-flam. So from Yorkshire in the UK my warmest thanks for your remote support teaching qualities and brilliant, just brilliant oil paintings. I salute you.

This was a great video. Lots of fun as well. I couldn't find your e-book that you offered, and I know it would be so helpful. I'm retired (77 years old), and other than a handful of paintings for family I am a novice. Thank you. I entered my e-mail again so you could find it. God bless you!! Annette Fields

My favorite still life you did was the memento mori/vanitas one some years ago, The previous toy one was OK, but I have to say I don't feel any connection to back to the future, star wars or Jurassic park. The painting is still good, just not as interesting to me. The previous toy one was interesting because everyone has a connection to discarded plaything from childhood (although, in your case, they aren't discarded), It is indeed a way of working from life, which is great.

Hi Andrew, as one nerd to another ( I’m old enough to have watched Thunderbirds in the 60’s and Star Wars 7 times in the theatre back in ‘77!) this is a really nice painting to see you produce……particularly as you handled such hard objects in such a painterly way. I’ve still been using Titanium White for some of my colour mixing as lead white has been banned in the U.K. and EU for some time now. There is however, a Warm White produced by Michael Harding, that is supposedly a lead white alternative and wondered if you had any thoughts on this? Thanks for another great post!
