How to Paint Realistic Cherries in Oils | Step by Step detailed tutorial for Beginners

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

🎨 Welcome to The ColorScape🌳🌊
In this oil painting, the timeless beauty of cherries takes center stage in a delightful still life composition. Upon an MDF Panel, awash with subtle strokes and rich hues, a luscious bowl brims with plump, crimson cherries, their glossy skins reflecting the soft ambient light.
The bowl itself, rendered with meticulous detail, exudes a quiet elegance, its smooth surface capturing the interplay of light and shadow. Surrounding the focal point, hints of a soft background add depth and dimension to the scene, enhancing the overall sense of realism.
I have tried to capture the delicate balance between light and shadow, infusing the composition with a sense of warmth.
🖌️ Materials Used:
Winsor and Newton oil paints

@@thecolorscape Thanks for your prompt reply. I am retiring next semester from my University teaching and I have been doing some acrylic painting--I am new at this. I have viewed many wonderful tutorials. I will try your cherries if you don't mind my lifting your ideas! You are a great teacher.

@@ZYosef-sd7wu It'll be my pleasure. I'm trying my best to make it as easy as possible for the beginners. It's kind of tricky to paint and at the same time be cautious of not to block the view of the camera. Please do share your work once you are done with it. Peace!

I would really love to learn how to paint this painting. Would be great if you would upload this in “real” time, by creating several parts. Love this so much, but hard to follow in the fast speed. Please consider uploading in several parts. Thank you!

Thank you so much for watching. In realtime it would be around 15-20 hours and that's the reason I tried to make it into an explainer video of around 30mins. And unfortunately I do not have the complete video now as it would eat up whole of my storage 😀I delete them after the upload. But I'll try to make future videos a bit longer so that it can help in following.

I’m having a doubt, whether MDF boards are suitable for oil paintings (primed) Because backside of the board will be very hungry for moisture, what do you do to avoid it? Share your tips it will be a big help Btwn I was enjoying a lot while watching your painting , thank you from Sri Lanka 🇱🇰

You are right the panel has to be primed from all the sides. I apply the gesso at the front and either apply spray paint or the wood varnish to the back of the panel even before starting the painting. Otherwise there is a chance that the panel will get spoiled over time. I hope this helps 😀

  • @artyloveraji
