Bob Hoffman & Perry Rader Would be Proud....I Met both of them in the 1970s....Two Pioneers of American Weightlifting & Powerlifting....Great To See your Appreciation of Classic Barbells, Dumbbells, etc.

I was disappointed my #5 50's came unpainted so I used Testor's model paint and a brush on them. Still good after 50 years.

Nice vid. Liked the touch-up with the sharpie. I had the same experience with the Sharpie paint pens until I started pumping the tip more often than the instructions said to. Their gold & silver pens seem to work better for painting the letters...

I agree with the gold/silver metallic sharpies that I have. Although I don’t think the ones I have are oil paint, the metallic sharpies I have do a nice job. I used silver on my Thor plates and I use gold or bronze on the back of my plates near the hub to write the true weight so I know how many Vintage Gainz calibration plates go attach. Fair enough. With cheaper weights, I’ve redone the lettering and been able to sell for much more than I would’ve otherwise.
