HOW TO PAINT LEAVES IN WATERCOLOUR

Botanical painting need not be difficult - in this step by step full-length tutorial I will show you how to paint eucalyptus leaves with watercolour, using wet in wet and wet on dry watercolour methods so that you can create a painting you can be proud of.
I am using mixed media paper in this tutorial because I find that it makes blending the watercolour paint easy - but please use what you have.

Oh Helen, this is SO BEAUTIFUL!!! My sister actually had eucalyptus leaves in her bridal bouquet when she got married several months ago 💐 - this took me right back to her wedding ❤️❤️❤️ Thank-you for triggering those happy memories for me! We are so lucky here in Australia to have so many different eucalyptus species, and I love them all!! They make such interesting subject matter for paintings! I always collect fallen eucalyptus leaves on my walks.. but now I MAY (or may not 🤣) have collected too many.. yes.. slight leaf-stashing problem here, but now my art studio always has a gorgeous eucalyptus smell.. so there's no point stopping that 🤣🤣🤣🤣 These trees also shed their bark in the summer, so I often come home with bark as well (!!!!!!).. but it smells gorgeous ❤️❤️❤️ And I LOVE the colours and textures of both the leaves AND the bark. Thank-you for sharing this with us!! I will definitely be trying to paint this one, thanks so much 🤗🤗🤗👏👏👏❤️❤️❤️

Thank you Dr Bee. I’m glad this triggered happy memories. I love the scent of them. These were bought from my local florist and I’m just like you with collecting them. I’ve dried them all out along with most of my other subject, which at now hang on a string of fairy lights in my studio, held in place by tiny wooden pegs. Xxxx

I'm not sure if it's just on my end but I can't view the video at all, it's just a messed up screen as if it was glitching. I tried refreshing and going to your channel page to watch it. Is this happening to anyone else? This is the only video that does it so I don't think it's on my end.
