I love it when Duncan intentionally makes a mistake like he isn’t some reincarnation of the Emperor just so he can help people by teaching them how to correct mistakes without feeling bad about them.

@@onezerotwo This is why I love Duncan's tutorials so much: he doesn't just tells you "I use this and that paint and this brush." He takes his time to explain and show his techniques. I wouldn't say he makes this look easy, but he makes it look simple. You feel like practice is the only thing keeping you back, rather than technic

Literally just started painting these boys. Just finished my first ‘test’ one. Pleased to see my method is similar to yours. I just add an extra edge of dawnstone before the administratum grey. I especially like the Corvus black for the tyres. Helps break up all the black. Little note: it is possible to paint these in sub assemblies if you cut the feet away from the front of the bike. Then let’s you paint bike separately from the rider.

I have to say the most beneficial thing I gained from this video is that really really good painters make mistakes as well and pointing out where you made some "additional" mistakes is nice to see. Especially because I constant see people say don't be afraid of mistakes and then in some of their videos you NEVER see them actually make a mistake and fix it.

  • @masselfur

Please please please, do an in-depth tutorial on varnishing. I find it super important for intermediate/ advanced painters. I'm struggling right now with a mainly metallic theme for my sister's of battle. I'm trying to find the best method for making the Metallic armor not be dulled down by varnishes, and its tough to find the best method. Varnishes destroy metallic finish and shine. There is so little information on the internet. I guarantee it will be a popular video.

I really love painting miniatures (and assembling them). Now i am creating a homebrew warband called the paladins of the soul dragon. Unfortunately for me i have uni exams and they are a pain in the ass so i must wait untill the next month. But if everything goes well then i will resume working on my warband and i will try to 3d print some parts to make my space marines even more unique. I will paint them in a metalic purple color and i cant wait for the exam period to be over. I have to admit that i dont like the uni i am at and i dont like the subject i am studying (physics) but i decided to stick till the end and this hobby is a great way for me to relax and stay somewhat positive. It really helps with stress i must say.

I know it's a very random request (that particular action model I fell in love with and want to paint one or several up lol), I believe if there was a step by step video by you, I think I will gain the confidence needed to finally start up the Crimson Fists chapter army I've been dreaming of doing for a long time. Also thank you for all your painting tips throughout the years, Duncan. I honestly don't think I'd ever get interested in the miniature hobby without your videos.
