Beautiful work again sir, you're an inspiration. Thank you for sharing. Do you always paint classic, natural clouds? It'd be interesting to see how an artist handles the layering and buildup of the wispy, trail-y, hazy 'clouds' of today's geoengineered skies. That's my focus for future skyscapes.

Thank you :-))) I use photo reference as a guide, almost always, for every single painting. WAY easier than trying to mock up a whole scene...you very often can tell if people use reference or not, almost all artists tend to fall into the habit to repeat a certain painting pattern when they do not use photo reference. And that`s what I try to avoid by using a good photo to draw and refer to.

The colourless liquid? This is linseed oil, this seals the painting surface. I use here not a canvas, I use a high density plate that is primed...and these plates really suck the oil of the colours in like crazy...in applying the linseed oil before I extend the drying time which would be drastically reduced would I just start to paint on the plate without using the oil before.

Clouds do look easy to paint...and they "somehow" are when you keep certain things in mind...but people very often forget to put in the volume, all the different colours and most of all - never use a pure white for clouds...they are NOT white!!
