I'm completely new to watching how painting is done, and I'm blown away by how it almost seems random at first, but by the end, it looks like it was exactly how you wanted it, with precise structures, perfect blends of color, and perfectly scaled. I guess it's the result of drawing/painting thousands of trees, lol. Genuinely impressive stuff. 👍

Thank you so much :-))) But I have to admit - I did not paint that many trees in my life...it´s more the technique that I acquired over the decades of painting...to just translate more or less anything that I see onto a canvas. Most of the painters stick to one subject only apparantly....but I like to roam around, painting this and that and perhaps due to having painted so many different things I am meanwhile able to translate most of the stuff that I see into a nice painting :-)

@@brennerfineart Wow, that's really interesting. I didn't even know that some artists stick to one thing. Thanks for replying. 🙂

2:21 patience OMG haha...I was just painting some reeds today and thought...ok, this is NOT tedious...no not at ALL I was sitting there for a flipping hour!!! haha....I had to take a break because my rear end was getting numb! BTw: Not sure if you saw my note to you on twitter, I think I have my first commission, a customer came into my wood shop and saw my third practice painting and asked "do you take commissions"? Me: umm yeah I guess so... him: ok, after you're done my sign I'll get you to paint something for my cottage. The painting he saw? a friend I've known for 35 yrs saw it and thought I'd printed it off a colour printer....told her sister about it and her sister bought it! thanks to you!

Please use KZread, that is what I use every single day :-) And SO glad that my videos and your motivation pay off!!! Congratulations!!!! This is the beginning :-))))

7:55 "you might be shocked to add the purplish blue in the leaves" yeah, because I can't see those colours in real life hahah.....I'm doing a muddy shore on a lake and my colour picker says "lavender" and "teal" LAVENDER? it looks light grey to me! (blue/green colour blind) Same as shadows....calls for blue but if I can see it as blue, it's TOO blue. I have to tone it down so it appears almost grey to me, then it is the "right" blue for everyone else.

  • @brennerfineart

The purple here is exaggerated...but I think that is what we artists should do - to go beyond reality to get just some new effects that will amaze the people that look at our stuff :-))) Not always of course...and don`t go off too far...but a little bit may help to get to some fantastic new results!

You would have so much more subscribers if you actually posted tutorials where the viewers can learn and see- all your videos are and have been teasers- now your about advertising- Here you didn’t show one brushstroke!! Your deceptive - Quality will return with quantity!!! 9:22 lol - yeah ok!

I tried it...in the beginning...REAL tutorials...go back to the beginning of my channel...hour long videos, showing EVERY!!!! single brush stroke...no one, I repeat NO ONE!!!! gave a f...about these videos...people clicked away after 5 or 10 minutes which is the signal for KZread, that the people do NOT watch more than 3 or 5% of the video...and those videos did not get pushed by KZread at all. I struggled hard...until I finally made shorter videos...and CLICK - the channel exploded. 95% of the people on KZread do not want to paint along with me, they just want 5 or 10 minutes seeing someone paint...kind of like watching TV...not getting active, most being just tired after work...what would you do? Insist on doing 2 hour videos that NO ONE will watch or just go the KZread mainstream way and get the REAL art lovers onto the Patreon channel? It still is deart cheap there...for 6 Euros a month you get instant access to currently 113 painting tutorials between 2 and 11 hours of in detail painting...a single painting course that will show you NOTHING is WAY!!!! more expensive...so I wann hear NO complaints ;-))))))
