Thank you for highlighting the work of a woman artist who did not receive the credit she deserved in her own time. She was criticized for being too sentimental for painting scenes of women's lives, but that is what was familiar to her, being barred from areas of life dominated by men. Your painting is lovely, and as always I learn a great deal from your videos.

When I opened my KZread app today and didn’t see a new video I was worried for a second. 😧 after an hour it popped up. Oh yeah. We just had our daylight savings time change. 🤦🏻‍♀️ I love this series and I appreciate the highlight of Helen Allingham and especially hearing how Van Gogh admired her art. What an inspiration she is! And goes to show how the “critics” can get it wrong. Your painting is beautiful and it was a blessing to watch you paint it. It always amazes me how a blank piece of paper can turn into a masterpiece. ❤ 🖼️ As always sending prayers and good wishes to you and Margot. 🙏🏻❤️

Her paintings don't actually look too romanticised, not when you look at the buildings. They're worn, they're tatty, and they seem incredibly accurate. The figures might cleaned up, but, again, possibly accurate. She did give everything a softness and warmth that made them seem more romanticised, though. You did an amazing tribute to her work. Now I'm off to Google to discover more 😊

I enjoy this series very much! This is lovely, of course. Gonna try this sketch free-hand. In my attempt to convince you to have a few beer lessons, I mean voice lessons, with me, I will let you know I sang the Brahms as an encore in The Schubert Competition in Vienna many years ago. And, I won that sucker!!! An American! Well, I had to do some late-night coaching if you know what I mean...

@@ArtbyPaulClark that is an extremely difficult piece!!! I've told you there is a good voice in you. Don't take time to respond; you have so many here. If beer makes it happen, so be it!!

I love this painting, stone cottages are my favorite. I live in a log home because there aren't any Victorian stone cottages in the Catskill Mountains. Thanks for turning me on to Helen Allingham, I think her paintings are gorgeous. I have to admit that Brahms's Lullaby just about knocked me out for a bit.😂

Wow! I was surprised and delighted to find this painting from you this morning! I too enjoyed your choice of music and your introduction about this wonderful artist. I can’t believe some of her critics said her paintings were over romanticized. Hope I’m repeating your words correctly and excuse me if I’m not. If they truly said that I would have to believe they were jealous. Her paintings were amazing, as was yours this morning. Just beautiful Paul!!! Instructions and advice excellent as always.
