    Thank you for actually explaining the process as you go along in a clear and focused manner and a HUGE thank you for TELLING US WHICH PIGMENTS YOU ARE USING! No one else doing tutorials really tells what pigments they are using as they go and it is so frustrating because that one detail helps by giving the novice the confidence by putting the worry about which color out of their mind to focus on the other details like value and other things. Its so helpful to watch an artist work and to see the colors mixed and applied, and it is all the more helpful to actually know what colors they are using. Just wanted to give my appreciation because I've been frustrated, especially at the begging of my painting journey, watching videos on other channels and other people's tutorials where they don't explain what pigments they are using

    Watercolor is new to me. I usually work with acrylics. But you do make a great point about walking away when you want to fiddle with the painting. I fresh set of eyes and taking a photo of it so I can see it overall, like a customer would, rather than focus what I am fixated on helps me.

    Another cracking landscape Karen! It's not until I try these myself that I realise just how fast you are working -any hesitation on my part and the paint's too dry to work with. You continue to make it look so easy. Thanks as always for your detailed explanations, they really help. I had a problem with my rocks painting this, when I scraped back with the card they were great from where I had underpainting with green. Have learnt next time to use a more neutral tone first so that will be what is revealed when I scrape back next time. Lesson learned!

    Lovely Karen, really beautifully tonal and pleasing to the eye. I love the last final bit of splattering, it really lifted the foreground and complemented the array of 'greens.' I did some splattering today on an autumn picture, had great fun, and it turned out quite well! Happy painting!

    @@KarenRiceArt Hi. I tried the lifting technique, I did not come out well, it scratched the paper, something was wrong. When do we have to lift the paint, after drying or when its damp? Thanks...

  • @KarenRiceArt

    @KarenRiceArt

    4 жыл бұрын

    @@kashivishwanath7603 Thank you for your question, lift off when the paint is damp, make sure the paint is creamy in consistency also, or it will scratch the surface of the paper and practice on a scrap of paper, just in case. Hope this helps :)

  • @KarenRiceArt

    Thank you Nancy. Sorry you are finding it a little fast. If it helps I do have a solution for you that will work on any KZread video to slow it down: kzread.info/dash/bejne/fYmtz6-khNO5k9o.html This lovely lady here explains it really well. Once you have it slowed down to a speed that is ok for you, just click the CC button at the bottom of my video and it will have the subtitles. So you can follow along. I would suggest muting the voiceover as it will have a very slowed down voice! Hope this helps! :)

    Best advice "Don't be afraid of the dark.. This is the foreground-we are allowed to do it. It's where the darks need to be." Thanks for the loosening up exercise. I love your style.
