Always sounds like I should shift up even when going 15 in a school zone. Why it want to be in 3rd gear

Great video, when you want to downshift in order to overtake someone, should you first step the break a little first to low the revs and then down shift or there is no problem and you can down shift to the current revs all the way down? Down shifting with the current revs isn't going to damage the transition?

When downshifting to overtake, it's generally a good practice to first brake slightly to lower your vehicle's speed and then downshift. Downshifting without braking can cause a sudden increase in engine RPM, which may lead to abrupt deceleration and potential loss of control. To downshift smoothly, follow these steps: 1. Begin by gently applying the brakes to slow down your vehicle to an appropriate speed for the lower gear. 2. While braking, downshift to the desired gear (e.g., from 6th to 5th or 4th) 3. Once you've completed the downshift and are in the appropriate gear, you can accelerate smoothly This approach helps maintain control, prevent excessive engine braking, Downshifting without braking can strain the transmission and cause a sudden jolt to your vehicle. Some newer BMW models have automatic rev-matching technology.

Its the M screen as it is a true X4 *M* for an Mperformance-40i, you'll have to code this dash in with Carly, BimmerCode, or similar app. Not sure if possible just yet for your model year.

Hi there, we realize where this could be inferred from the video! While she says that you do not have to let your foot off the gas to downshift, in this case she was referring to de-acceleration without touching the break. Even though she had her foot on the gas pedal, she was letting off to slow down. Slowly lifting off the gas = you can still shift down without touching the break. We apologize for the confusing terminology!
