How to pack for 7 days using carry on luggage with the help of packing compression cubes.

If you are tired of paying fees associated with checking your luggage, or tired of sliding through global entry only to sit and wait an hour for your luggage to hit the carousel, then this is the How to video for you.
I use folding strategies with the help of "Peak designs" and "Tripped " packing cubes.

    Finally some packing tips from someone who packs like a normal person!!! The "minimalists" have me exhausted with their nonsense. A proper amount of clothes because every day needs a different look!!! Outfit repeating & doing laundry on a trip as short as 7 days is just ridiculous.

    I have this bag, so I know the size well. Problem with this packing is when using the clothes, & needing to unbundle. I prefer to create stacks - use the template, but pull it out after every garment/every 2nd. You can use a pair of pants wrapped around the stack if you prefer, but I have more success sticking with stacks. Also, splitting those clothes to 2 compression cubes and actually compressing will save space as well as time on the other end. Also I don't want to carry my toiletries in my backpack. I use small liquid dropper bottles for almost all my liquids (face cream, toothpaste, hair serum, etc.), dry shampoo bar (vs liquid) to save loads of space.

    I'd start by packing about 2/3 what you've packed for 7 days ! or 1/2 if you can wash clothes at your destination. I recently took a 30 day trip with slightly less than this. No washing facilties first week or last but washing middle 2 weeks so enough clothes for first week, wash when i arrived second place, wash one week later, wash the day before i left the 2 week rental, enough for last week.

    After watching ur video, I purchased the exact same bag and compression cubes, and it worked!! I packed 5-days of clothes with 3 evening sun dresses. I used 2 large and 2 medium bags. 1). Large bag has 5 tops & 5 shorts 2). Bag has 3 dresses, 2 sweater overlays, a pair of long sleeve satin PJ’s 1). Medium bag has 2 running tights, 4 T-shirts 2). Medium bag has 6 pairs no-show socks, 10 briefs, 4 bras. Sport bras are at bottom of bag. 2 pairs of wedge sandals and I still have room for a few more items. I cut templates and wrapped clothes around it. Recently American Air damage/cracked a new hard shell bag. Thank you for this video

    You brought me back to my days in clothing retail folding clothes using the boards in my early 20s. Brilliant ideas. You really highlighted the best ways to get clothing into packing cubes without wrinkling them. But it seems like a lot of work because you will definitely have to unpack everything when you get to the hotel and then repack. I’d be curious to know how long it takes you to pack it when you aren’t making vid and big girl in spandex jokes during your tutorial. And omg I loved your OCD tidiness. 😊. Subscribed.

    I never liked the idea of unpacking a dozen items to get to one pair of shorts UNLESS I was staying at one place for at least 7-10 days. Then I would unpack and hang up everything. Whenever I travel, I stay in one place for 2-4 days & then on to another city/hotel. If I roll my items I pick the piece I want out easy rather than unpacking everything. If you’re staying in only one place for a week or more, it’s ok to pack like a pillow. It’s like putting all the raisins at the bottom of the box of Raisin Bran

    You def got a ton of stuff in your large packing tube ;) .. it seems you have to unload and repack everytime you get anywhere tho, so.. idk about the organization of it all for myself, as it's not a time saver having to unpack and repack over and over; especially if you're moving and traveling around quickly

    Wow! You have WAY more clothes than you need for 7 days. How much does your carry-on weigh? I suspect that it may be too heavy to count as a carry-on for most budget airlines. Tip: bring less and do laundry. You can even wash out a couple of items every evening so that they will dry overnight. Your method is excellent if you stay at one location for the duration of your trip.

    Not for me and I don’t think this would work for biz travel where you need to pack a blazer or suit.. It requires the same suitcase he has and if I want to get to one specific item you got to take the whole pack apart. That said…his method is quite clever and impressive.

  • @tijay8507
    @tijay8507 Жыл бұрын

    Rolling tightly and neatly would enable you to fit these items and more into a personal item let alone that decent size carry on full size.. I can fit 6 mens T shirts into a ziplock bag and they don't end up with deep creases like folding does! You don't put jeans into the same cube as shorts and tops... the small cube can fit 8 pairs of mens shorts so sorry you might be handsome AF but you are wrong lol! Not a good idea to put black jeans next to light ones and yellow ones as if it gets damp that dye will run ... Was that supposed to be an English accent ? So you just used a huge cube not a compression one LOL! They are some crazy bright coloured boxers ... That amount of stuff would fit by just folding or rolling in any way as it isn't a lot of clothing and the case is PLENTY big enough.. Always pack shoes sole to sole and heel to toe into disposible shower caps that you can get really cheaply from Amazon or Ebay ... you got a positive test of a shite test that has a 2 percent accuracy .... so no you have a cold or mild virus LMAO!

    That’s a lot of clothes for a 7 day trip even for a woman 9 shirts, 2shorts, 3 pants, 1 pair of jeans and sweatpants and shoes, would weigh more than the allowable weight for a carry on. I know they don’t weigh the carry on , on domestic flights but if the gate agent asks you to check the size it would fail.

    It's doable for women, too. I travelled 6 weeks in carry on + personal item. I took way less clothes than he did and I still managed to fit 4 sweaters. Not with the same method, though. Take little make up, it's rare to actually put on some make up while traveling!
