Just did a 5 miler/40# yesterday, one tip for civ or people rucking recreationally and not timed is to keep a hammock in your ruck it’s lightweight doesn’t take much room and quick setup. Let’s you get your feet up off the ground on a break or at your destination it’s peak relaxation 👌🏽

I just started adding rucking into my workout in the last year and forgot what a butt kicker they can be. I stated teaching my 12yo son land nav last fall. I think we will add rucks to it this spring.

I bought one of those rucking plates, used it one. The problem is that you cannot allocate the weight to the top of the ruck. I still use it to exercise, but I think that using everyday gear to add weight is more helpful (and realistic). Especially when I go out in the winter when the temperature is below zero I fill my pack with gear that might be helpful in case the weather turns. Thank you for your video.

Thanks for the vid, keep up the good work! Yeah that's a big problem if the weight is not center shoulder blades area after a km gravity drags you down if you have a European style ruck I put a bucket In mine so when I placed the weight it sits higher, I also found that if I did not do this, a weight might sit properly at the start but after 5 miles it can sink, the lightest I do for rucking is 65 pounds and the heaviest I done is 110pounds, a goruck bag is designed to hold a plate
