Just a comment about the battery charger. If the charger is flashing green, the batteries are NOT fully charged. You have to wait until the green lights stay on all the time. Sounds simple, but you would think that flashing green lights means they're good to go. Wrong! Lol!

i bought this mower and it has been garbage for me .. worse decision ever. the lawn mower even at the highest setting just shuts up because it thinks its under to much strain even on low cut grass its so annoying i have to stop and go a million times just to do my yard

I’m sorry you’re having these issues. Usually, if you mow once a week, he won’t have this problem. The mower is going to be slightly less powerful than a gas powered. But you can’t let your yard grow for a month before cutting it. This mower works great depending on what you need it for. If you need it to cut hay and you’re a farmer, this is not a good choice for a brother.

Mine keeps cutting off every couple seconds. It’s full charged. Any ideas??

@@Skincaregirl22. I think that mowing on 2 or 1 is to low honestly for the mower. Setting 3 cuts my grass easy. I like the look of the yard also after and it bags great. The bag I have filled and dumped so many times and it’s still got no holes. The batteries are holding up good to. But I would suggest having a back up set if you’re doing more than like 1/3 of an acre.

Have a new one and worked great first time using bag. This time it cuts off when engaging self propel when blades are running. I'm thinking some kind of safety but I can't figure out how to make it stay on. Help!

That is weird that it worked the first time. I’m sorry I don’t know what would be wrong with it now. The self propel is a little bit confusing. There’s a speed adjuster for the self-propelled. Also, if there is thick grass and it is clogging up around the sensors underneath the mower the blades will stop. All you need to do is lead off the bar turn the mower over sideways and pull the grass out. Hopefully that helps!

Close. You can start the mower at any length. In order to start the mower PRESS AND HOLD the start button. One you’re holding start, then pull on the lever. The mower will start then you release the start button!

Until it doesn't. Came here to try to find out why my mower won't start. Husband is overseas and I'm trying to figure out how to mow the lawn. Should be easy, but it stopped while I was mowing and won't start again, even after sitting a couple days. I think it's a lemon.

@@pbxh6740 when mine stops if the grass is tall, all I do is roll it backwards and forwards and it resets the sensor. On a gas mower sometimes when the grass is tall, it will shut off you’ll have to turn the mower on its side mess with it then when you turn it back up right, it won’t start for a few minutes then you go to pull the rope over and over and over again. And then the rope breaks and the engine wears down. Then you go to store it properly over the winter by gas and parts every year. I don’t know. To each their own. There will be pros and cons to everything. Hopefully rolling it forwards and backwards helps and I mow on the tallest setting. Works every time.

I do like mine for the most part, does my whole yard in half a charge. I am concerned mine is faulty because the blades don't start every time, took me 10 min today resetting the thing over and over.

That’s great! And good feedback. When the grass is thicker it cuts faster and when the grass is shorter or thinner, the mower cuts at a slower speed to save power. I have the problem of it shifting and shutting off before it gets fast enough to cut from thin grass to thick grass. But usually just turn it over on its Side and basically move the blade just a tad forward or backwards and then set it back down and start it up no problem. Idk if that’s the same issue or not. But maybe… it is just a safety feature I think

I just bought my Kobalt Mower last night and was a little weary about how things were going to work out..... until I saw you murder that tree with those bad A knives! I can't wait to mow!

Hahaha yess! Thank you! You can tell I love the mower. I’ve cut a lot of grass this year with it at 2 properties. It really makes the yard look good with the bagged grass. My whole yard is almost all healthy grass now!

Batteries are charged but nothing happens when I try to start it. Brand new. Suggestions?

Yes, try this. First hit the start button right after pushing the start button, push the little rail handle thing. Mine won’t start unless I hit the button like one second before pulling the handle so I hit the button and then pull the handle and it starts.

The safety switches on mine are way too sensitive. If I twitch my grip it stops. If i mow slightly uneven ground it stops. My 5ah batteries are good for about 100 restarts, or 3/4 of my lawn. It seems like a capable mower that was ruined by lawyers apparently. It is attractive on paper but I would not recommend it due to the sensitivity of the safeties.

It definitely is a safe mower haha. I love mine and mow every week or 2 and it makes the lawn look beautiful with bagging. I sometimes mow a second time to just get all the extra grass up. My yard went from basically dirt to thick grass using this mower. So if it’s just good care or the mower I don’t know but like I said, it works well for me. Thanks for your comment though. No even if the grass is wet which it always is cuz it needs water and condensation it gunks up and it won't properly eject .. settings 1 to 3 are pointless

This may be true I always Moana tall is setting, because I like the grass thicker and softer. I have never mowed on the first three settings..

Hahahah not laughing at you, I had the same thing happen and just actually forgot to mention that the batteries were dead right out of the box. They don’t take to long to charge though couple hours or less I believe. Im sorry that can be frustrating depending on your situation

Try changing the cutting height, mine wouldn't start on the shorter settings! Now it works great!

I have it set at 3”. Nothing. Batteries fully charged. Brand new. The light under the cover isn’t on.

When you start the machine, try pushing the start button right before pulling the lever don’t push the button and pull the lever at the same time. It won’t start like that either. Also, if there is grass underneath the deck, it won’t start like loose grass underneath. Try those things!

Sound like this mower is junk, I see Kobalt is selling them for $98.00 now. I almost bought one until I looked at the reviews.
