Thank you so much for your good tip and making a video demonstration! I have a porch swing with chains that are rusted and couldn't figure out how to take the S hook off, so I could attach new chains. The circle ring it attaches to is very thick, I'm hoping to use your tip to open up the new one. You mentioned using a vice grip to close the S hook, I will try that when I need to close the new one up a bit. 😊
