This problem lost our firm six hours work a few years ago. We are all fitters and welders and didn't want to start bashing the brand new van around. Three thousand miles on the clock.first class tutorial. The six hours was at the ford garage, so if you could send their head office this video it may save thousands of manhours in lost work country wide!

This is literally the worst ever design to open a bonnet. I don't know one Ford van that doesn't suffer from this issue

It really is isn't it! I've had this about 3 times now! Such a dumb idea to use the key! Nearly snap it every time I want to open the bonnet! Shite.

sounds like a door lock motor fault

For me that lever is moving, the cable is pulling but the bonnet still not budging

No wonder it didnt work the plastic cam that holds the cable was broken on mine and just hanging in mid air 3 cable ties later ive now got a quick release bonnet 😁😁

Shame the side door isn’t this difficult to get into lol

Most are guarded by a metal enclosure.

This doesnt always work because those barrels have a metal housi ng behind them to prevent anyone getting in .on that transit it had obviously been removed.and removing that housing is an absolute pain in the arse becaus the retaining screws are right up against the radiator .and you also have to remove 2 undertrays to gain access one of which is riveted on when i did mine i left the housing and one undertray off for future access.these barrels are reparable there is a small flat wedge in them which gets curved with use just remove it and straighten it and it will work .very bad design its fitted to lots of fords.

You had to break the grill , it wasn’t missing, you broke it doing this

The grill pops out in 2 min with a flat screwdriver. Very easily.
