It's a little unfortunate that the verbiage on Restream's page gives the idea that using their free tier will limit you to 720p and have a watermark on stream. For anyone who may have thought that, just know that using OBS with Restream like Epos is showing here doesn't actually have a 720p limit or watermark on the stream. I've seen a lot of confusion about this on Twitter so just fyi

Telling people to upscale to 1440p is the best advice you could give. That said, I feel like most KZread streamers don't do this extra step and it's one of the biggest reasons KZread live isn't as popular as other platforms as of now

@@AJCoReTV Exactly. For small streamers specifically who are not given vp09 transcoding. Anyone can check if their livestream is given VP09 by right-clicking then going to stats for nerds. If it doesn't say VP09, then your video is being forced to a lower quality. In order to easily get around this problem is to upscale to 1440p

Great summary! A more techy option, if you have a server with some bandwidth/CPU to spare, there's an RTMP patch for NGINX you can also use for restreaming. Given that low end VPS's cost about $5/mo, it's only really cost effective if you have 3+ destinations, or if the server does something else for you (VPN, Bitwarden, etc). That said it's also worth looking at restreaming if your stream to glitches out. I found using my NGINX relay gave me a much more stable connection, likely because the relay was in the same city as the Twitch ingest server (i.e. lower latency retry/confirm packets). Fun stuff. 😋

Restreamer is also a good software for your VPS, when you don't want to configure nginx.

Sadly twitch is against combined chat, 1 of the requests they make to streamers casting to multiple sites is to keep twitch chat separate

dunno if this is a good fix, but if you set up a youtube livestream waiting room, in the live streaming dashboard you can set up the stream key to be 1440p. i think this upscales it on youtube's end, so your pc doesn't have to upscale it. could be wrong tho. but i've been using this little trick since october of 2021, and the encoding is way better

I don't know if you had this issue or maybe someone but since I start multistream last week ( having my youtube as my main and twitch as my second one on rtmp plugin, in my VODS on twitch it shows I'm streaming at 1440p with is what I use on youtube. If I am using KZread as my Stream Service in OBS, and then use the multiple output plugin to stream it to Twitch, will I still be able to use the ReStream combined chat? Maybe a better way to word this: will the ReStream combined chat work when using KZread, not ReStream, as my Stream Service in OBS? Thank you!

For an even better way to stream to multiple places as well as recording, use a old laptop (Intel 7th gen or higher) and use an RTMP server service combined with OBS and you do whatever you want to as many targets you want.

I multistream with KZread, Twitch and Kick, I leave 22000 kbps for KZread in 1440p60 using my main GPU and for games: AMD Rx 6650 xt and h265 codec, for Twitch I use between 7000 to 8000 kbps 864p60 with my secondary GPU GTX 1050 (GPU for stream on Twitch and video editing) and h264 codec, and For Kick, the same Twitch setup, using the NVIDIA GTX 1050 GPU, all on the same PC and OBS with multistream plugin, works great (my upload and download speed of Internet is 600 mbps) thinking of buying an Intel ARC a310/a380 to change it for the GTX 1050 and have more quality in h264, h265 and have support av1

Very informational video but what about Kick (i know its meh but why not if nothing to loose now)? I know there is so many options and cant cover them all. Appreciate for KZread part, how many streaming sites rtx4000 cards could handle? Multistream services gonna have a field day now. Also chat is gonna get more complicated, at the start atleast. 19:49 i'm wondering why you're upscaling the canvas entirely instead of just the output stream under settings/output/streaming/streaming settings/rescale output. is it because that setting for some reason doesn't apply a decent upscaling filter? i'm wondering because in case you're both streaming and recording at the same time, i assume that both would be upscaled, which i personally wouldn't like to see being done for the recording.

Awesome video, Question. I multistream to KZread/Kick/Twitch. KZread is the only platform that goes red in OBS. It drops frames like crazy all the time and I constantly have to end and restart the YT stream as a result. The bitrate is set to 15000kb, I have 65000kb available to me and YT is the only one that gives me trouble. I switch the primary and backup ingest servers but the issue persists. The other two streams are flawless and have no issues. KZread is the main platform via OBS settings while the other two are configured via multiple output. Is there a setting I need to change for YT streams? No matter what I do, YT always gives me trouble while the other platforms are trouble-free.

twitter feature a broadcast system and you can use an hashtag (in the title of the stream) to get viewers who search this hashtag. same way you can mention related companies to the stream and be discoverable this way. i heard that twitter was working on a youtube clone, but still their broadcast system offers much more discoverability than any other streaming platform, excepted rumble.

In my own experience restream + obs works beautifully. I tried the restream browser version but it's awfully laggy and watermarked. Of course no HEVC which is a bummer.

What bitrates do you recommend to stream HQ to KZread and 6000 bit rate to twitch. I only have 40 upload speed. Dual pc streaming both pc’s have 40 series nvidia gpus

aircast looks like a good option if you dont have the upload bandwidth. 8$ a month seems like a great deal if your streaming to multiple platforms.

if your having problems in MAC installing the plugin and not showing for multi stream just rest your dock and the window should pop up OBS 29.1.3 / OBS - MULTI - RPTM - 0.5.0.1 / Macbook pro M1 pro

I stream dual pc and I've recently changed the gpu on my streaming PC from 2080 to Intel a750 8gb. Would that gpu be good enough to multi stream with no issues? Or should I save to get the 16gb model or maybe upgrade to the next intel gpu if it's any good for streaming.

Been multi casting for a while, 4070ti is a streaming monster and allows you to max out obs settings in 4k with little performance loss in game. Recently I have wanted to stream HDR content to KZread only and each test fails due to network dropped frames. Obs when streaming in hdr frequently sits at 0Mbps while sdr sits at 52Mbps. I assume there is an issue with the latest obs version and hdr youtube streaming

The HLS protocol (needed for HDR) just doesn't work well with some internet connections.

Not sure if this multicast OBS Plugin needs to reencode the streams to every platform it is sending the data to, but there is also a way to multistream with NGINX. That avoids encoding for multiple platforms, but it has its limitations.

Is there a way to stream to twitch as multistream with having a different audio track set to the vod channel

Have you every played around with using an OBS NDI output with the NDI tools webcam utility to make a virtual cam and virtual mic come out of OBS at the same time?

I'm still waiting for the updated OBS settings for AMD 7000 GPUS using the AMF Encoder and how it compares to software encoding. I remember EposVox saying something about it is some previous video.

I am an SLOBS power user, and one of the main drawbacks to your point is the inability to set custom encoding endpoints for YT & Twitch. by default, you need to more or less use Twitch's 1080/6000 bit-rate settings as a result. I would love a way to continue leveraging SLOBS while creating the ability to create dual-custom encoding setups

I have a huge question every time i try to add my obs virtual camera its always greyed out on TTLS is there any way to fix that or to get it to detect it? Also my obs and TTLS both auto run on administrator mode even tho its turned off idk if that is a problem as well for that?

My main problem with this setup is that the twitch chat latency is worse than if twitch was set as the main setup. Is there anyway to fix this?

That limit was increased to 3 in ~2019, and again to 5 last year. Also if you’re sending the same quality to the other sites you don’t need new encoder sessions

​@@EposVox one quality would be 1080p to twitch/kick/etc., second 1440p to youtube (twitch accepts 1440p I think, but likely bitrate inefficient) and then vertical as third, since crop still requires re-encoding. As for encoding limit, I thought its hardware limit (some people tinkered with drivers to bypass it, but I wouldn't touch third party drivers)

@@ggDebon it was 100% just artificial segmentation between GeForce and Quadro cards. There WILL still be hardware limitations based on resolution and settings, of course, but the hard cap was 100% artificial

Vertical streaming is in really bad spot now... * twitter access to live is a subscription * tiktok is pain the backplate without key * instagram doesn't have go live button on pc (not sure if any hidden requirements)

I'm confused it seems to me the whole video assumes you're streaming in 1080p and so should upscale to 1440p for youtube but what if you're streaming in 1440p and therefore downscaling for twitch and maintaining for youtube? Just wondering if there's something I'm missing about what I should do. Great video and thank you for introducing me to rmtp

23:30 I'm trying to multi stream to twitch and TikTok, I noticed here while you're explaining Aitum that twitch is setup in the Multiple output dock but don't explain as another way to multiteam those. My question is could I go live using Aitum as primary with my TikTok stream key in the Aitum settings and have twitch set up in the secondary RTMP? I feel like I can't get a straight answer for streaming to Twitch and TikTok once you finally get the TikTok stream key and there's not enough videos covering this.

This might be a dumb question, but, if I multistream myself then I would need more upload bandwidth right? Like, YT - 7mbps, + Twitch - 7mbps, + Tiktok - 7mbps, etc. Whereas using restream, I would just send one upload of 7mbps. Right?

That's an underappreciated point: restreaming can help make a temperamental internet connection (WiFi, Mobile) more stable. I keep wanting to recommend the NGINX thing too, but restreaming services are competitively priced with VPS servers.

Restream has a watermark now? Well if I ever start streaming again I guess that's something I'll not use (although I could just as well pay them to make it go away at this point). And well in my situation it probably makes more sense to try to set up my own relay (or at least look into possibility of doing so)

So when I add Twitch chat as a browser dock, it disappears the next time I open OBS and I have to add it in again. Is there some reason it doesn't save my browser dock setup?

Would this work the same when streaming to two different KZread pages at the same time?

Not saying anyone's been stopped for this, but the new TOS from Twitch says you can't push higher quality outside of twitch. So if you're streaming to Twitch and following their TOS, you're not going to be able to stream 1440p to YT while streaming 1080p to Twitch. If you don't mind breaking TOS then do whatever you like. Edit: Also showing a combined platform chat would break the ToS for Twitch if that's something you're worried about. Lastly - streaming with KZread are your primary setting and Twitch as a target from the plugin will not allow the Twitch VoD Track to work, meaning you need to limit your audio to copyright free music. If you use Twitch as the primary, you can not only use VoD Track, but you can set it up so KZread/Kick/Etc do not recieve the live music.

That rule is incredibly vague and their own clarification specifies “shrinking of or otherwise degrading the video quality on twitch” - since you’re still streaming the best quality twitch supports, it would be very difficult to argue that this caveat is being broken. Regardless, they can’t actually enforce that. Who’s going to monitor the off-site quality of all these streamers? Do your best to follow rules in a way that makes sense and looks out for you, but I cannot imagine anyone adhering to that rule in such a way.

If you use Twitch in the multiple output plug in how do you automatically fill the description, title, and tags from obs?

I could get Twitch working without adding the stream key at the end of the URL chain. If I had the stream key in there it wouldn't work. It would work with it being in the "stream key" section only.

The only thing not great for restream combined chat is that it doesn't tell you about your activity feed, hype trains, etc. Much easier for me to just have separate chats for Twitch and KZread.
