Well, if anyone's still not pursuaded by the benefits of wet-sanding then they never will. The ridiculous level of improvement in smoothness and reflectivity from the original orange-peel laden bumper is beyond words. Absolutely amazing result. I learn a lot from your videos PoV and this is another one to add to the armoury of knowledge. Cheers!

Too scary to take too much clear coat off if you don't have a lot to begin with, they're expensive and time consuming to reclear, tape up entire car again, etc. Sometimes even 2000 sandpaper takes off a lot. I guess sandpapers are all different by different brands.

Damn right wet sanding is the only technique to get that show finish and of coarse the polishing after , I always put a little soap in my water

Cheers, ive been struggling with trying to find a cutting compound that actually tells u what grit sand paper to use prior to the polish (rather than marketing shite) and knowing how much time to spend on each section with the polisher. U cleared it all up and im off to buy stuff and then re-polish a car I bought a week ago.

Tried it last weekend on my car's tailgate (it was resprayed by the previous owner)... Came out like a mirror and now I have to proceed on the whole car because I love the finishing, that is better than the original paint one. One important thing: if you don't have a VERY aggressive polishing compound, the first pass with the buffing machine will disappoint you. After the initial panic, you can simply try with another pass. And another one. Very time consuming process, but very effective at the end!

Watching this looks like I didn't cut the peel deep enough to start. Can I just restart and cut again with 1500 now though? Kept getting dry circles with the G360 using my cheapish DA. Any advice would be great. One thing missing was when reloading pad, do you have to clean between adding more product, if so how? DIYer @ home. Thanks for the video was great 👍👌

Use a hybrid silkwool pad at speed setting 1 and u can cut that 1500 grit sanding right up. You dont want heat or pressure when cutting or polishing today's clearcoat. Laquer paint from years ago, you would benefit from heat during polishing. Friction and abrasives are the only factors in polishing now

This a very informative video, however, have you or would you produce a video guide for repairing deep scratches you can feel with your fingernail? the type of damage caused by a keying, shrubbery, or more commonly the reckless supermarket trolley!

Really like the real world attitude here. Not everyone has 40 buffers and 100 polishes and a thousand pads doing a 6 bucket wash process. I bet most internet experts would be delighted with a 1 stage cut/polish frankly!
