    I just realized how much Cheryl teaches with emotion. She isn't "harsh" to the singer in the beginning for no reason. She creates a state of mind from where she can give positive feedback of emotion. Look at 5:07. As soon as the singer does what she is supposed to do, Cheryl gives her that irresistible smile. That creates such a powerful feedback, that she will truly learn from this. She knows: this is how I'm supposed to do it. I love it!

    The more times a student attempts Whitney, the more I’m in awe of Whitney as a true savant at singing. Cheryl’s intent study of her dynamics-crescendo, passagio, ritardando- and “strategy” of vocal control emphasizes that in all her teachings.

    Yes of course this vocal coach is great, I have seen many videos on how she works with her students perfectly. But can we take a time to discuss how the student took her advice so well and in consideration of her mistakes? Many others would hate being corrected like she was and the way this student responded and changed with the advice is so priceless. Hope that student keeps going for her dreams. Great voice and a great coach guiding her. What else is there to have??

  • @BettyAlexandriaPride

    @BettyAlexandriaPride

    5 жыл бұрын

    @@beautyspotty9444 Honestly, the girl in this video is rarely screaming, but she spreads at times when pushing her chest voice, which causes the sound to begin to scramble. She has the notes, and she has them without straining with guidance. There are many singers who do not have the resonance in their chest voice for notes above C5 (usually around E5 and up you hear it) due to not properly stretching their bottom range first as well as not approaching their notes from above. When I go back and listen to my live performances, I can tell when I begin to push due to fatigue, which begins to make the pitch fall flat. The times when I have a more rounded tone, approach the pitch from above but pull the power from below, I am much more relaxed and the notes come out more fluid and melodically. A huge tip for vocalists singing songs with high, powerful notes, is to build their mix. Songs that I can technically sing fully in chest but tire me out can be achieved with much more ease with a good mix, leaning more towards chest for more volume and towards head voice for less volume. Raising the eyebrows when pitch begins to fall is another tip you can use, but overall, it's important to prevent poor resonance. By use of dynamics, the teacher didn't need to mention mix at all; it came naturally whenever the singer was actively conscious of her dynamics. Happy singing. :)
