I learn a bunch from you, you're great, your bees are still strong after a few years and multiple 2:16 cold winter's
Always nice when a demonstration video realizes that the first pass went entirely too smoothly and does it a second time hoping for difficulty.
I am a huge fan of both this channel and your other channel. I’m not a beekeeper, nor do I think I ever will be, but I enjoy watching you work your bee magic! I think beekeepers are a gift to the world. Keep up the awesome work. A thankful fan from California!
I LOVE the second channel so much I subscribed!

Nice Video David, i;ve never seen that conraption before. It's a lot of work, but for the beginner it sure seems like a great handy device to getting the queen in position without hurting her wings or legs. I personally advise practicing on drones to get used to do it by hand.
I do not know why the beekeeper supply store in my town does not sell items for a beekeeper. They only have a few smokers, queen clip grabbers are not stocked at all, they have no swarm commander or lemongrass oil for someone wanting to try for swarms... but if I wanted to purchase a ceramic skep honey jar and a small jar of honey to put it in, to give my aunt Tilly, they would gladly sell these items. I can also buy over priced deep supers, medium frames and wax foundation. In the '80s I made my own wood items out of scrap stuff from construction sites that would be burned or hauled away. Times have changed for the worse.
I was just asking myself this question... and lo and behold, you answer it. 🙂👍 great video 💙🐝💙
EXCELLENT video showing how to mark a queen WITHOUT damaging them! I'm afraid to pick them up & mark them. I'm scared that I will injure her!
Two very cool tools David thanks for sharing.
Great job! A class on Queen Marking. Thanks for the video classes. Always informative. Susan NW Georgia

Thank you for an interesting channel and great knowledge in your videos.
Great video!!! I want one of those piles!!! Just a suggestion... have your logo big and on store wall or desk front. Great job on Tshirts!!! I want the peach in size small!!!
excellent video.
Great video
Can you make a video showing/making your feeder for the 2 frame nucs?
Wow! you are a very handsome man....;-) Thank you for the tips, keep up the good work. Marty
Благодарю!
If ya do a walk away split does the queenless . How far does the queenless colony need to be away from the original hive ?
Is that pipe good for queens that have fat tail? The queens that I have bought from you are smaller than after they have been in the hive for a while. Especially queens that have overwintered and are going into spring with a strong hive
will the Queen Sting you if you handle her too much during marking?
Do the guardian hive entrance provide enough ventilation? Thanks Virgil
Good video and information. Are your hives been wax yet ?
Thanks for demoing the queen bee marker tool, great to know "how to" for when I get my bees this spring. I'd like to order the baseball shirt in a large, thanks! P.S. Can't get your email address from your shop link? I live in Canada, are we not able to shop from here?
I marked several queens this summer, but my paint always wore off. I haven't figured out what I'm doing wrong.
White candle, does it affect bees if used in the foundation?
I just received a caged mated queen I ordered online. I did not realize it would be "caged" and there were no instructions. I opened the one side of the cage and placed in the hive, and was curious should I have let them bore through the cage/candy, or will she be ok?
What's playing on the wall in the Employees Only office? :-) Good video dave. I'll have to order one of those kits...

Looks like a professional photograph of a couple. Maybe David when he still grew out his hair, or of his one of his kids and spouse.
How do the bees know if the queen is an actual queen or not? Like what if the queen catfishes the colony?
What did you say I won a free T-Shirt David ???? I'll take the grey t-shirt please --- LOL Thanks
Practice on drones?
I can't get in your website
Can you use any kind of marker?

I have been wondering what kind/type to use also
Very Interesting. Who\ How are colors chosen? You have Rotating colors for years? Through the tiny holes, what about using a Twig, or center of Leaf to round-up Queen? You noted Queen Bee may (had) passed out, well i may too. = (| We both get marked. lol

Now, my question is WHY do you mark them and why those colors on those years?

Evie DeChant i don’t think he really does honey. Mostly queens and nucs? I’ll sell you macadamian nut honey by the gallon if he doesn’t sell honey. You pay the shipping from hawaii. Lol

The question is, why do the crooks charge $5 to mark a queen? Because they can!
