I am going to try doing this, this evening when I am with my synth. Great tutorial as usual. You know looking at your template website got me thinking because templates are so tied into the process maybe it was a bad template that caused the problem in the first place? Think about this, WA Productions sells and gives away free Templates for FL Studio and Abelton. Maybe it was when I tried their project templates that actually unlinked the mod wheel and pitchbend but did not put it back in place after closing down the program. Talk about pointing the finger😳👈😃

Thanks for the feedback and comment! Note that the issue with the mod wheel is not an issue with the template, just that somehow your default mapping for pitch and modulation got lost in FL. 😇

I work with a bunch of templates and this approach forces me to either set up every single template and re-save it this way, or continue assigning these for those projects where I'm not using a template. What I learned in the last 15 minutes is that FL Studio indeed does force one to use templates for these Omni assignments (assigning Pitch Bend and CC#1 Mod Wheel to the class of generic "instruments" rather than letting it be saved in some Setup or config file... I wish it were not necessary to use templates this way because Pitch Bend and Mod Wheel are such standards that I wouldn't have thought it would be necessary - I thought I could save them to the mapping config file somehow.

@@thisisalbe haha..true. but got one problem with this setup: when I want to add another instrument where the mod wheel also controls lets say the dynamic, then the first recording of the modwheel seems to be now global and effects also the second instrument? I want to record for each instrument different modwheel actions.. do you know what I do wrong?

Thanks, I had a loose wheel assigned to tempo and it was fkn everything up... How do I hook up a playstation remote tho 🤔

I'll have to try these fixes out when I have access to my equipment. With mine, the left-right movement works fine, but with the up-down movement, the little reticle thing on the modulation graph in Sytrus snaps to the bottom instead of back to center when I release the joystick. Fingers crossed one of these works.

Hey Al Be!!! Great video by the way! I have a question, I did everything exactly as you explained, but my mod and pitch wheel aren’t moving in the computer screen when I touch the midi controller!! this may have been mentioned in the video idk but you can use alt+ either up or down on the keyboard to move instruments in the channel rack up and down just an fyi might save someone some time

I'd been getting by with a cheap keystation keyboard with a modwheel for the last few years. But I just got an 88 key keyboard with proper key action or properly weighted keys. But it does not have a modwheel whereas my old cheap keyboard did have one and I used it a fare amount for string orchestras. I really want to use the new keyboard but the lack of modwheel is a huge hit. Does anyone have a tip or any suggestions. Or any recommendation for external controler that can be used as a modwheel? So my modulation wheel is apparently working, I'm getting the green tick and its coming up in the debugging log but it won't link to any of my VST's and I've tried everything in this video. Anyone got any ideas?

I can only bend pitch but not do the sound warping. Why? I can go up and down for pitch but side to side does nothing

this fixed my problem with the mod wheel link that i deleted by accident, no matter what i did, i could not recreate that link - until i saw your fix with the fruity wrapper Thanks Al !!! I have a question for the minilab mk2 : how can i use the knobs in relative mode instead of absolute mode ? When i set relative in midi control center, it doesn't move much in FL. Only absolute mode works.

About my expression pedal ---> I would like to make my expression pedal to control a specific global sound parameter (for everything), like when I press it, so it will filter high frequencies, like the left pedal in a real piano instrument. Do you know maybe how to make the expression pedal to control a proper global parameter for filtering high frequencies and to make the sound of a specific VSTi to be softer? I linked my expression pedal to a global volume knob that affects every instrument, but it's not what I am looking for. Do you know how to make the expression pedal to control a global "softness" of every instrument globally? By the way ---> I wonder which sound/audio sustain parameter the "sustain pedal" is controlling that it works globally on everything in FL Studio. Do you know maybe how to see this hidden global sustain parameter moving on a knob or something like that?

I need some help please. The joystick works fire, that's not the problem. I set up everything as you've shown in the video but I still have a couple issues. Firstly, no matter what I do, pressing the pads don't trigger the assigned channels (1,2,3,etc.) - and yes, everything is set up correctly. I checked like 5 times. Omni preview is set to 10, M-audio oxygen 49/61. Everything's correct. Also, when enabling CC mode the pads still don't do anything. Nothing happens when I press them. Can you help please? I'm really stuck here. Tried running as admin, reconnecting device, restarting PC, opening empty template. And yes, the program IS selected. I sent to RAM and to 4 as well. Did everything just like you. Still no luck :/ everything else works fine though.

Make sure you don't have a port number set on the controller. It should be Port '--'.

i just downloaded the template, and the tabs don't trigger in the proper way in fl 21. I use program change to change the channel, and i should press the pad 8 to play that sample.. in cc mode, all 6 functions work, except the left ones

No, should be able to save it as a template and use that to start projects.
