I hope it works.
I've done this to many stock Citizen and Seiko straps. I tried this on my Scurfa rubber yesterday and it made it even softer and more comfortable.

Awesome! Enjoy the killer watch.
Just did it to mine. Definitely makes the strap more comfortable.

It definitely does. Even though it is a really nice strap already. A bunch old school guys use to have to do this to get the crappy Seiko diver straps to loosen up a little,
Pro tip! Thanks!

Thanks. It's actually something that has been talked about on the Seiko forums for a long time. I'm just trying to pass it along. Take care
It works!

All rubber straps.
I got new ones yesterday and did this procedure twice but they are still very straight lol... I tried increasing the time hot water submerge from 5 mins to 7 mins but in vain... could you advise what else I could do? I read on some watch forums that people also try to boil the straps but it mostly ended in disaster :(

What brand of straps did you get?

I have the same problem! My new strap was so stiff it constricted the sides of my wrists and leaves a huge gap near the buckle. I was excited when I learned this mug technique but my strap was still as stiff and straight after doing it :,(

@@watdafawkz That is annoying. I tried to do this technique with the Crafter Blue curved strap for my SKX and it did not help. Oh well you can't win them all. Take care, Terry

This won't work if your strap is silicone. It must be rubber for it to work.

@@jlaudesign can this be done on my vulcanized rubber straps?
any tip for making a 20 mm rubber stap fit a 19 mm lug width watch?? @utewatchco1468
Good advice! Subbed!
Tip for shorting seiko silicon strap? Too much left over past the keeper.

Jeff you can put a coin at the end of the strap and trim around it to keep the curve. Or order a Uncle Seiko GL rubber strap. Them come in shorter sizes.
