Your Royal Enfield sounds fantastic! *_"Nerds Corner"_* Crush washers are made of soft metal, usually copper, and are designed to deform and "seal" the imperfections in the mating surfaces. You can "renew" crush washers by annealing them if you need to (disregard most of the sh*te you see on the web re sandpaper etc.). It's very quick and easy to do, takes no more more than 30 seconds but does require a blow torch. So if you're cack-handed, *_don't_* Hold the washer on some sort of metal hook that can handle high temperatures; heat the washer with the blow torch until it is "cherry red"; immediately immerse the washer into cold water. If done correctly, the washer will squeak as it is immersed and then, after a few seconds, will pop or click. Once you hear the pop or click, it's ready to be reused. I haven't tried it on exhaust crush washers but it works a treat on drain bolt crush washers. Tyres and tyre pressures are a rabbit hole you don't want to go down. Those stated in the handbook are for _"the average"_ - rider weight, suspension setup, load (pillion, luggage etc.), riding style, route (city, town, touring etc.), ambient temperature, OEM tyres/other brands of tyres etc. ad infinitum. Always start at the book spec and experiment by changing the values about 1 psi (up and down) at a time and see what suits your particular "ride". Being a bit portly (OK, a fat bast*rd), I tend to run the pressures a little above spec!

Spot on, re. tyre pressures 👌. I'm a lightweight (in stature NOT stamina 😂) and find 2psi less front and rear improves riding comfort considerably without affecting handling in any way. Also, our ambient temperatures here in the UK are somewhat lower than elsewhere.

I just got my package today! Thank you very much the items are marvellous! Also of note was the lovely letter you wrote, which is the first handwritten letter I have received in many years. Your new exhaust system sounds the mutts! I always approve of anything that enhances the motorcycle and increase enjoyment. I’m given to a bit of bike fettling myself, so you will always get my support for such endeavours.

Sounds pretty good to me, Dave! As long as the bike gives the rider the impression of increased response, that's sufficient. The decrease in weight of the new exhausts would certainly help to make the bike a bit more sprightly, too.

The new exhaust sounds quiet to me when the bike ,is just chugging along , & only sounds a bit roarty when it’s given fist full of throttle . This is good ,as when you’re rolling off the throttle & sauntering through villages ,or other such like situations ,it doesn’t upset the peace & tranquility. The aftermarket pipes I don’t like ,are the ones that bark at tick over & bimbling speeds ,they are the ones that tend to annoy neighbours & other road users, plus get even louder at speed ,causing headaches . My verdict is if you must fit aftermarket pipes ,the ones you fitted are the kiddies , well according to the sound on my I pad they are . 👍

Nice sound Dave, unfortunately most bike these days have so many restrictions on sound and fuelling . My BMW 9 Nine T had a flapper valve to reduce the sound and a massive C.A.T. which I removed and installed race header pipes I retained the stock exhaust. The sound is much better and the bike is better for it.

We biker's buy a new bike because for us it's the bee's knees then we invariably set about trying to improve it, and I'm no different. My GoldStar i found a bit bouncy at the rear shocks, perhaps it was the state of our Lancashire roads or more likely my not inconsiderable weight so i got some uprated shocks from Tec. I've also got bar end mirrors and a set of those fabulous Red GoldStar stickers, as shown by Mr. Darcy, they really make the bike pop.

Dave, with the info from CEAT I strongly suspect that they are referring to the Interceptor and the Continental GT and have not updated their specs for the very different set up the Super Meteor has. If in doubt I'd be going with REs recommendation.
