I wanted to tell you how glad I was to find this video. I am 64 years old with arthritic hands, so my wife has to help me slip this on, but the best thing for someone on a fixed income is that you saved me 20+ dollars. Your folks must be very proud of you. I know I would be. Thanks very much!

Bill Craig I think the trick is to use a old sock. I've got loads of unused pair of socks I got as Xmas presents.

Nice one. To all out there who think it will slip, IT WILL NOT. U just need to slide the phone between the two layers and that was the precise reason the sock was pulled back within itself.

So happy to see this: so simple, yet effective. One can change designs, depending on mood. I haven't tried it yet, but I might put a small safety pin to secure the top, just in case. Thanks you so much for sharing the information. Will make good "stocking stuffers." Good delivery: short and to the point!

Stu, this is absolutely perfect. I use a holder that scratches my arm with the velcro, cuts off circulation sometimes, has metal eye holes which stain my arm as I sweat in the run and as you point out, cant be washed. Thank you. My next run is in 2 days and will be with a sock on my arm.

Thank you for this video! I would never have thought of doing this. I got on KZread to look at reviews for armbands, but I couldn't find anything I liked well enough to spend the money. This way was free! I used a lycra-type sock, which is great because it stretches thin enough to sort of see the screen, and I can use the touch screen through the sock. Also, like you said, it can be washed. Overall, I would recommend this over purchasing one. Thanks again!

Great Idea...I did the same after finding a written article on this, but went a bit farther. Took the extra length like you but sewed a rubber band on the bottom and the top so it holds a bit better and it's easier to slip on cause I sewed half the top together. For waterproofing I put my cell in a ziploc...it's waterproofing for a few cents (no I don't use my earbuds while cycling, but I do listen to music).

For everyone playing Fallout 4 but don't yet have the money for the Pipboy edition (or don't want to open it when you do), use this same technique but after covering your phone with the outer layer, use a pair of scissors to cut around the edges of the screen (for obvious reasons, I wouldn't recommend an exact-o knife). While it's not as aesthetically pleasing, it serves as a functional Pipboy and it's a whole lot better than just picking up your phone to look at the app.
