Thanks for posting the exact dimensions that you used to build your diffuser! I made a much smaller one for a penlight (for lightpainting) and I used a cut out from a plastic milk carton for the diffusing material (your paper towel). I believe I will be trying to build your diffuser but will be trying a larger piece of plastic milk carton as it should prove a little sturdier than a paper towel. Thanks again for your tutorial! :)

Great idea! So far I've been using natural light with macro, but definitely inspired to try a flash/diffuser.

Natural light is great but for insects, I highly recommend a flash and diffuser.

Yes there is a difference. I feel like the light is better diffused with the AK and more consistent. But you can get great shot with the paper towel diffuser too. Any diffuser is better than no diffuser.
