I am sitting here just smiling at how cleaver and creative you are! Very nice sliding door, simply blown away!
I love your simple but ingenious way of thinking things through. I'm an old Kentucky country boy,and I was raised if its made.....you can make it work with wood! Thanks for all your hard work. I know there is alot more thinking that goes into your work than it seems in the length of the videos. Thanks again.
Excellent, making it all out of wood. Thanks for showing this video. I like it.
can't believe how beautiful Plywood can look, great job John 😉
This is what I was looking for. Now I can plan my chances in my home.
I missed this video somehow. My only remark was I wanted you to show off the finished door longer at the end. Thanks, I always learn so much!
The way you think never ceases to amaze me! Thanks for all you do for your subscribers.
Every one of your projects is valuable but some stand out with a special excellence. This is one them.
John, Great build! Thank you for sharing.
Brilliant! I love the way you use whatever you have on hand rather than buying store bought hardware. Very inspirational.
I'm impressed with your "vision" and even more impressed with the execution.. wooden wheels "FANTASTIC"
Really great design, love the simple recycled bushings!
Brilliant - if I ever need a "barn door" you're my man - I saved this video to help me make my barn door. If you have plans you'll get my $$.
Great Idea John. I like the wooden wheels. I do have an additional idea for the center of the wheel. Being a plumber I work with pvc pipe. If you use 1 1/2'' pvc for the center of your wheel and then use 1'' for the piece for it to roll on in the center you will have a very smooth surface and never have to lubercate it. They fit inside each other nicely. I cut the 1'' pvc slightly larger than the 1 1/2'' pvc. I then used a 1/4'' carriage bolt to tie it all together with. The nut on the back side was sunk in with a washer on the rear so as not to hit the wall. I also used a couple of 1/4'' fender washers 1 1/2'' OD on each side of the 1'' pvc pipe. Not really a must but makes it a little better yet. I also cheat by using my home built cnc machine to build with. Thanks for your efforts. Jerry
The quality of your content & craftsmanship is an order of magnitude better than any other diy channel. Please keep up the great work!
Love the construction of the doors’ rollers as well as the look of the finished door. Real classy look. Thanks for sharing John
John, I really appreciate your creativity and talent. Thank you for your time and effort in creating content for us all to enjoy and learn from. All the best.
Thanks for posting this. When I 1st saw it I tbought I'd like to try it. Im going to do it on a smaller scale!! If I'm successful I'll show ya!
This kind of project is what I love to see the most, so simple, no BS. nice job
I love this video! I’ve thought about diy “sliding barn door” styles often. This is a very helpful and inspiring demonstration!
This is simple compared to many of your other projects, but I have to honestly tell you, it is one of my favorites of yours. Well, done!
Awesome build... I think this is one I will have to try. Thanks for posting such great content John!
Nice ! The stop blocks hidden in the rail with the angle cut was a genius idea ! Great design for the all door, love it !
Man, you are such a crafty mo-fo. That's a great solution and looks nice with the rest of the room.
Another bit of brilliance. Thank you! There was a door with this style slider at my old work place. It must be well over 100 years old and well over a ton and is still in daily use. I reckon the design stands the test of time!
Amazing! Your genius blows my mind all the time. Great work again.
Thanks for showing this video. I'm in the process of remoding our bedroom and the wife is wanting this style of door
I really like the look of the wooden wheels. Great idea with the plastic bushings.
This is great, John! I think these types of projects are your best. Super creative in finding new ways to tackle common projects. Just the techniques alone here set your experience apart from others. Thanks!
The fit and finish of your work doesn't get enough love. Love the wood track and wheels.

Simple and elegant. Really inspirational design....got my wheels spinning ; )
That’s a nice looking door! Love the bearing idea also.
Well done - I really enjoy watching you figure things out - your thought processes in action.
Very nice job indeed. Always satisfying to see a job built start to finish. Nicely done.
Nice door! I must admit, when you built the painted doors, I didn’t think about building my own. Now that I’ve seen one stained/clear coated, I’m definitely building one of your doors. You do great work and I learn a ton from every video.
What an incredible project ! Genius design , simple and perfect !
LOVE it !!! I need to have 2 of these barn doors for a remodel to save space and the metal track is SO expensive.. Thank you for this, I didn't know it would work being made out of wood.
I really love how you show/teach. TKU!
Nice work, John! A classic Heisz project.
That looks really nice! I have to admit, I click the "like" button on every video you post before they even start, and they never disappoint!
John this is amazing. I love your work brother. I love your overall theme of making things out of wood that are usually metal. For a plywood door it sure came out beautiful. Maybe for fun you could make a set of rack and pinion gears instead of the round wheels
the wood track matching the door looks real clean. this is much more better looking than the black metal tracks sold in stores. i’ll use this at my house. nice job !
Cool project, love the caulk tube bushing!

Thanks Andy! And congratulations on hitting a home run with your band saw feather board / point fence project. I bet you weren't expecting to get over a million views on that one :)
Thanks John for the great video and project! You never cease to amaze me!
Cool design and execution.
I really admire the way your engineer your projects.
Beautiful build John. Great work
Beautiful. Pls consider making more to sell.
...Rather than deal with it, I'm gonna hide it ! LOVE IT !! Thanks John, NOW I has the solution for the basement bulkhead interior door that I've been looking for. Please keep solving all my problems in life ( hell, someone's got to do it)
This really looks so natural and I think This is just what I'm gonna do in my next project, big thank!
Love it, and I love how close to the wall it rides.
Nice build. I really like your simple, "modern", design style.
Great looking door and what a fantastic idea with the wooden hardware, awesome execution as always!
Looks great John, I like the wooden wheels.

Turned out great. I've wanted to do doors like that between the living room and entryway. Filing this one away for future reference.
Very nice design! Love the all wood design, and simple bearing. Thanks!
When I saw you had like slots in the door top I thought you'd put the roller struts inside the door so there's a flush surface on the outside and it would offset the door from the wall for future trim. Love your videos and professionalism. Your projects are always stunning and an encouragement to me to take your path. Thank you!
That was great from start to finish. I have been wondering for a while how to make the hardware out of wood, using the caulk tube was genius.
Very nice John. I built my own when my son was born for his room. Looks great!
Really great work! Digging the concept of no metal in a sliding door... It really looks great. 👌
I love it. Great look with the unpainted wood. Thanks.
Looks good! I am always impressed by the results you get using that sanded ply. I have had a hard time using that in the past because it seems like it always has a major bow because of how they store it at my local home center. I know you've mentioned some tips for dealing with this in past videos. Would love a scrap bin segment devoted to your experience and observations using this type of plywood and your tips for getting good results. Thanks as always.
I love the wood hardware. What a money saver!! The door looks great.
Ficou muito legal essa porta, e as roldanas ficaram belíssimas, valeu por compartilhar.
I really like that design. Especially the wooden wheels.
Great job John! Thank you for sharing the video with us.👌😎👍JP
Absolutely Genius! you never cease to amaze me.
Great job John! The bearing solution is excellent and an awesome looking door! Thanks mate i learnt alot from this video.
Гениально! Это самое крутое видео про раздвижные двери, что я видела!!!! Просто отлично! И наверное не шумное, отличии от металла. Вы супер столяр!
The door and whole system came out great.
Awesome idea & execution! Wish I had such a well-equipped workshop to give this a try.
Amazing, elegant and functional. Great work and inspiring!
This is really awesome! Barn door hardware is so damned expensive, it's so great to see a substantially cheaper alternative, especially one that you can customize to look so great.
Nice job. I like the way you sort of design on the fly. I know you have a pretty good idea of what you want and how you are going to get it but then there's that little issue you hadn't considered. But, there is always a work around to get the job done. I pretty much work this way as well. I'll have everything drawn out and planned but there's always that little issue that comes up and has to be taken care of. Never let the small things keep you from getting the job done.
Not only it rolls, but it also rocks. Good job.
Came out gorgeous, John! Love the wooden hardware.
