    Really enjoying your videos, plus they have valuable content hidden inside. I educated and entertained all at the same time! Thanks Also thanks for your bullwhip making video you did with Nick, I’m using it as the bases of my second dip in the ocean of whip making. The say go big or go home so this ones going to 3 feet not 20” like the first one! Thanks again Adam (and Nick)!👍

    If I’m going to make a Bullock whip thong, (which as I understand is just a really long stockwhip thong) does the ratio apply well?

    Iris Whips that’s a good place to start. I usually make bullock whips 10 ft long with an 80” belly and a 75” core.

    Hi Adam...i love watching your Videos and your wor. I have a question regarding this ratio between diferent lenghts etc. The core and the belly...is the core on those examples the part only with the BB's or is it also the first belly? Some whips have 2 bellys some have only one...would it be a good thing to just divide the entire final length of the whip to 3 and just make the bellys this way? For examples a 6ft whip...first belly 2 ft, second belly.4ft and overlay ft?? Would this be a good formula?

    I would say you have to try your formula and find out. Make the whip, crack it, if you don’t like it, change the formula.

I actually just finished a 4feet snakewhip and i tried to combine what you said on your video and also my idea and i still have to wax the whip and tie a knot at the end but the result is realy nice...its my 4th whip and i had to plan everything by my self and im.realy happy with the result.😊

    Hello there! I have a question about how the length of the bullwhip handle depends on the length and mass. There is a feeling that there is a finite length that does not make sense to exceed. Thank you in advance!

    The longest bullwhip handle I have made is 19 inches, it was for a very light whip. Generally bullwhip handles are 8” to 15” long.

    Regarding whip balance for a Stock whip - What is the preferred balance? - Weight forward (thong heavy) or Weight back (stock heavy) or Weight balanced? I've been investigating some samples I made and I have some thoughts but I would like your opinion.

    Don't know how often you check your comments, but would you consider making a video about how different handle lengths changes the handling of a whip? I've scoured the internet and can't find any info on the difference between a 12, 10, or 8 inch handle bullwhip. Thanks in advance. Keep being awesone!!

    Joshua Blankenship basically the handle length depends on the weight of the whip. Lighter whips are better with longer handles and heavy whips are better with short handles. The longest bullwhip handle I have is 19”, and that one was made to be as close to a stockwhip as possible.

    Hi there Adam what does it mean when you double strands over??

  • @Adam-Winrich

    @Adam-Winrich

    2 жыл бұрын

    Say I want to braid four strands, instead of cutting 4 separate strands, I cut two strands twice the length and double them over, usually looping them through something so they are easy to tie or fasten to whatever I’m braiding from.

    How long do you cut the strands for leather?

  • @Adam-Winrich

    @Adam-Winrich

    4 жыл бұрын

    Emre Azis the usual formula is 1 1/2 times the finished length. So for 10 feet of braiding, cut 15 feet.

    Ok Adam I have one question because I got a bit confused going through this algebra lesson...I'm hopeful either you or someone who reads this can clear it up for me. @ 1:32 you show the formula that gives you the longest strands needed for the whip which is the x•2•1.8=stand length doubled over. I get that's the longest strand lengths, what I'm not sure of is how do I subtract for my drop lengths, so I don't end up with a ton of waste? If anyone could help me with that, you would be saving me a lot of paracord and time, which both are valuable when, if you're like me, don't have much money to be able to go through the trial and error to figure it out the hard way. Not that I'm a stranger to learning that way, I'd just prefer to be able to improve my whip making and eliminate as much wasteful trimmings as possible.
