    There is a lot of very good and informative videos about whipmaking on KZread, but this is the best and "easiest-to-follow" instruction I have seen. Thank you

    Great tutorial! Thank you. Two Questions: Why didn't you use a metal based core (bbs, ball chain, airplane cord, etc. It seems like most builds include them. Is it because of the waxing)? and, Have you made any projects using the inner core that you remove? :)

  • @CanadaWhips

    @CanadaWhips

    Great questions! You're right, the waxing removes the need for the BBs because it adds weight to the whip. I like to use wax more than BBs because it's easier and I feel the weight distribution is a little better. But I'm also not a professional maker, and there are tons of really great whips that have BBs in them instead of wax. One of my favourite pairs of whips has BBs in it, actually! I just choose not to use them. Sometimes I will use the inner strings from the paracord to make whip crackers, but that's about it really. My girlfriend likes to use the string for her garden, she uses it to tie up plants and give her peas something to climb.

    hi there! i absolutely love the video! however i do have one question, i'm trying to get a hold of the nylon paracord, but what is the diameter you've used in the video? is it the same diameter that you would recommend to try it out whipmaking or would you recommend going smaller/larger? Thanks alot!

    Cpvc is better because it's the right size. You would need a different size of PVC

    @@tiramis100 I’m in uk and I can’t find any pvc or cpvc the right size and connectors that fit them. Some professional whip makers have pipes, but they tell me it’s any hardware store, but I still can’t find the right size (width/diameter).

    Hi, great wideo! Do You maybe noteiced points where You drop strands? I saw 52'' only. And also, please tell me if You just fold them a half in the middle or You maybe moved "the middle" a few inches?

  • @CanadaWhips

    @CanadaWhips

    I drop my overlay strands two at a time, so I fold them in half in the middle to make sure they drop in the same place. I don't have my notebook with me but when I get home I can let you know the approximate distances where the strands drop.

    Nick does a different starting to the twist. What's your opinion on the difference

  • @CanadaWhips

    @CanadaWhips

    2 жыл бұрын

    The different start to the twist doesn't make much of a difference as far as I can tell, however Nick is a much better whip maker than me so I would go with his method if you're looking for the best one :) This tutorial is fairly old and I made it quickly in order to fill a gap on KZread. I've changed a lot of my construction methods since this came out. Hopefully I'l replace it someday.
