How to make Warbat طريقة عمل وربات بالقشطة/ cream puff pastry / kolaj/ mtabak/ namoora/ shaabiyat
In this video I will be showing up how to make warbat !
Ingredients:
For the stuffing (kishta) :
5 cups whole milk
2 tbsp orange blossom water
7 tbsp cornstarch
For the syrup:
3 cups sugar
2 cups water
1 slice lemon
2 cap fulls orange blossom water
24 sheets fillo dough ( I used 2 packs of the #4 dough and had a few sheets leftover )
16oz vegetable crisco
Scissors
Plastic brush

Pro tip : you can watch movies on Kaldrostream. I've been using it for watching loads of movies these days.

Do you use measuring cups is one cup 200ml ? and can I make the ashta part the day before👀in the fridge

You can but it won’t be like thin crunchy baklava texture.
Momma I made these and the bottoms were super soggy? Is that how they normally should be?

No. They should be crispy. I think your syrup was too watery.
can i use ghee instead of butter?

What about canola oil, butter, or coconut oil? Can those substitute crisco?

Crisco makes it crispier butter makes it moist as in cakes
its a Turkish desert called şöbiyet

Thahab Mustafa yes you can use butter ( won’t be the exact same but will still work) and you can use ricotta cheese if you prefer to use a cheese :)

Hello How do you prevent it from getting soggy? Does the temperature of the syrup matter in regards to the sogginess?

Crisco is not healthy . . use clarified butter
