Meat lovers

My dad would always make this for me and my sibling when we were little, and he unfortunately passed away last year. I want to learn how to do some vietnamese style cooking as a way to remember him and how he tried his best to make us happy when i was little.

Spring Roll! My favorite dish. Vietnamese food is my #1 favorite since I was in highschool, that was in 1979/80. I have a couple friends who would cut class with me and we'd go to the local Nguyen's restaurant and eat spring roll's & peanut sauce, pho ga and fresh lemonade. Best food in the world. And I had to laugh because you cook like me, only a little better.

Summer rolls are my absolute favorite. I put lots of lettuce, cucumber, carrots, dill, noodles and shrimp (or even some grilled chicken). But I’ve never put garlic or sugar in my peanut sauce. I actually substitute the hoisin for oyster too! It’s all so so yummy!! I’ll have to try your version soon 😋

I’ve never had dill in goi cuon lol interesting. Usually add Thai basil into mine too. I usually reuse the water from boiling the shrimp/pork for the peanut sauce to make it more flavorful. Great recipe!

that's right, for my whole life, I have never seen anyone in Vietnam put dill into goi cuon. They put whatever they like but dill is so weird!

My most fave vietnamese food after Pho. Looks delish Quang. I used to ignore this until I started working with few vietnamese co workers last yr. My husband discovered Pho years ago and that was the only dish we tried then. Banh mi is the other dish we enjoy.
