    In all fairness a 13b rotary engine is actually the equivalent of a 2.6 liter 4 stroke piston engine when it comes to amount of combustion, therefore exhaust gas volume.

    Lots of diesel turbine housings are sized to forego the need for a waste gate. There will never be the force on the shaft that the compressor needs to drive high flow at high boost. The drive pressure will be low that's great for efficiency but this looks huge. Given the size of the turbine wheel, and the t4 flange, lots of guys run a 1.15 twin scroll. This looks like a 1.32 or maybe even a 1.52. This compressor tops out right near 700hp everything being equal and even with that small of a compressor a 1.0 ar housing isn't out of line. T04z kits for Rx7s have a bit bigger compressor and aftermarket turbine housings are usually 1.05 ar. This guy probably needs a new housing or a diverter valve.

    Rotaries push alot of exhaust, its very common to run a larger turbo on than a comparable piston engine. I've heard a lot of folks saying Holsets are a good fit, and spool by 3000 RPM which still leaves another 5000 RPM of powerband. I'm considering running a 16mm turbine housing on my H1C to help spool a bit faster.

    @Turbo Lab America Love your videos man. Can you tell me how much of a gap do you make on turbine side? I'm doing 0,6mm on compressor side, but this time I'm machining turbine side from L to HL (Td04) and I don't know how much spece for exhaust gases should I leave. Originally on my turbo there was 2mm on inducer and 0,9mm exducer diameter gap. Isn't it to much? Please let me know what you think about that.

    Im running your td05 9 blade setup on my Frankenstein 20g and it spools 21lbs faster than the 14b did on my 1g dsm

    Awesome I have the he300vg turbo can I only remplace the turbine wheel and not the comlresor ? My engine is stock I dont race . thanks for the info . I am waiting for the ecxange rebuild kit and maybe i can change the turbin for a little more power .

    What do you recommend for 5.9 cummins '06? I want to lower egt but want it to spool before 2000 rpm . I read 64/71/ 14 will be laggy below 2000. I have after market fueling but stock injectors. On automatic transmission with 35 inch tires I have to be doing 80mph to be at 2000rpm in OD.

    Hey bud. I was looking for a small turbo for my 1.6l honda. Not looking to go big. Actually need something small so that I can keep my ac running. And also I only want to get around 200 - 220hp @ 8psi. Was thinking something like a 57mm. Maybe a ct26 but they dont seem adjustable to fit. But knowing that went into a inline 6 3liter. I think I can go smaller. Any ideas which would work for me? I appreciate your advice 🙏

    I mean, rotary exhast flow is usually much higher energy than a typical piston engine of similar size, hence why old truck/heavy equipment diesel turbos are a go-to choice for RX7s

    I'm just trying to add a little power to my diesel pusher motorcoach. It's a 2000 24v and makes 275hp. Want to put 100hp injectors in and also get a good turbo or build the one I have to work good pulling a trailer. How can I contact you all to see what you all recommend? Thank.

    Your tune makes a huge difference too after the rest of the build is complete. Low timing down lower in the rpm will have fuel burn later in the exhaust manifold. Camshaft plays a huge role too . Those with the proper exhaust housing get a turbo going. Believe it or not that Borg turbo isnt that big. Tell him look for a tighter cummins exhaust housing.

    What about oil pressure ? I saw an improvement on spool when i tried thinner oil switched 10-60 to 5-40

    Thicker oil causes more drag on everything. Crankshaft, bearings, pistons and turbos then also takes alot for power for the oil pump to move it. Usually you want the thinnest oil that provides good stable oil pressure.

    What should i expect for much Bigger compressor wheel in stock compressor housing? I am trying to avoid excessive lag. Will it end with blowing much higher IAT? Got offered an “upgraded” VF38 with much bigger billet compressor wheel as well as bigger turbine clipped wheel + dual ceramic ballbearing. Was told that it is capable of producing 500hp (assume it’s referring to crank hp)

    Hand sanitizer! LOLOLOLOL :D A rotary engine has huge amounts of heat energy outside the combustion camber, this helps to turn huge turbines. But also the fact that a 13B rotary volumetric efficiency is 4L when compared to normal 4 stroke terms.

    Yeah thats small for a rotary haha. Our power bands are from 5k-10krpm 😆 and dispacement is irrelevant to us to a point.. most compare the 13b 1.3l to a 3.9l for turbo sizing

    Gasket match the turbine housing, port compressor outlet, make sure the rest of the charge path is hawged out as much as possible especially that throttle body.

    Yup, having a 700 HP engine with a flat curve, I'd much better than one with 1200hp, and very peaky curve, starting boost at 5k, when you only rev to 7k, it's not going to be fun , more like on the verge of dangerous,

    I would like a higher boosting turbo for my Experimental racing type aircraft engine, ported & flow matched, single turbocharged, inner-cooled, fuel-injected, manual w/gate.
